Many times it's not about a coach being good or bad, it's about finding the right coach for the right team. Every team has a squad with different abilities and traditions. So you have to find the one that brings the best out of what your team has, and not only get the "best" coach around. Just see how many good coaches have failed in different sports. Guardiola comes to mind for example, he's seen as a pretty good coach, but he has not been too successful in Bayern.
