That debate reminded me of something about Robbie Lawler that I'm not sure a lot of people (casuals especially) really notice or appreciate.
The guy is a master of five round fights. Just plain godly at it. He always has enough energy by the end to finish extremely strongly, though it means that some rounds it'll feel like he's not fighting that hard. This was jarring for a friend of mine, he told me that his only problem with Lawler was that sometimes he doesn't throw with enough volume as he thinks he should. This is what prompted me to really start thinking about it, and notice the subtleties in Lawler's fight long strategy.
