Camden Yards is GOAT
>my face when "people" actually think the team with the best pitching depth in the NL and a top 10 offense in the MLB will miss the playoffs this season
>Justin Turner (objectively and statistically a top 5 third baseman, it isn't even debatable)
>Hyun-jin Ryu (best Pitcher in the game who will be 100% healthy, unlike the entirety of last year, he will put up 1.98 ERA, 280 SOs, and a sub 1.000 WHIP)
>Cory Seager (a top 3 shortstop already and going into this season will be fully recovered from causing all those errors in the ALCS (2.9+ dWAR, .290 BA )
>((((Joc Pederson))))(literally a top defensive outfielder that is way better than just a platoon guy .700 OBP)
>Yasiel Puig (top 10 designated hitter in the NL 35 HRs, .700+ slg,)
>Kike Hernandez (a white guy trapped in a black's body, one of the smartest players in baseball, elite measurables, incredible upside)
>Adrean Gonalez(one of the fastest and most explosive players in baseball)
>Clayton Kershaw(one of the best post season pitchers)
>Best Bullpen depth in the NL
>Best pitching staff in the MLB
>Best infield in the MLB
>Top 5 total
Barring major injuries to key players, there is literally no way the Dodgers are losing the NL west this season

It does. From stretching the muscles.
>tfw my Phillies aren't completely terrible
They only need Corner outfielders, a first baseman, a second baseman, and a shortstop! And it's seeming more and more likely Tommy Joseph is getting called up to... get the occasional pinch hit behind Ryan Howard

I was speaking in terms of the 2016 team. You know, the one where Emmanuel Burriss is a Pinch Hitter?
Also
>Kodeyashi/Williams
Williams can play, but he's too much of a free swinger right now.
>Altherr
We don't really know, but I got hope
>Joseph
I really really want him to be the 1b of today, If not for him having to deal with all the concussions before
>Kingery
Waaaay too early on him. I'd say Cesar is FINE for now, but not optimal. A Darnell Sweeney is acceptable too. If anywhere a hole can be filled with average guys, this is it
>Crawford
I feel like we're all having too high expectations on him. He's really looking like the player that will hit .270 and draw some walks, with really good defense. But people are expecting a .320 hitter who is Bondsian with walks and Flawless D
>>67459602
Ok, in terms of 2016, you can expect an improvement with Asche, Altherr when they come back from the DL, and Joseph at first over Darin Ruf, THEN maybe we will have a shot at the winning a wild card spot.
>>67459650
If Goeddel keeps it up, does Asche still take over in left? I mean, we know Bourjos ain't moving, because he's hitting a patrician's .181
>>67459660
I assume they will play Goeddel every once in a while because he's a rule 5 guy. Asche has more majors experience so he's the go to.

Why can't it be the same here? There seems to be only 3-4 actual true to heart white sox fans and then a sudden shitload of anti-cubs "white sox fans".

My Postseason Predictions
AL Central: Indians
AL East: Red Sox
AL West: Rangers
WC1: Royals
WC2: Mariners
NL Central: Cubs
NL East: Nationals
NL West: Giants

Wait what?
As it stands now the Mariners are the most complete team in the AL West
Top rotation of the 5 teams especially with Hernadez, Iwakuma, and Walker
Extremely powerful core of hitters who while may falter at times, are still offensively stronger than any other team in the West with members like the tried and true Cano and Cruz as well as other powerful hitters like Seager and Lee.
They also have the nice speedy players who offer pluses on both defense and offense like Aoki and Marte.
The only other team in the AL West who comes close is the Rangers who I can see competing and giving the Ms a run for their money but ultimately, especially if the Ms add on big time which I'm sure they'll do, the AL West will be the Mariners division to lose.
>>67458376
Are absolutely done

Angels are done in this race. Rangers and Mariners will be the two favorites
>>67462529

honestly he's just looking to get paid before he gets on the field, he was barely keeping it together two years ago and getting by on guts and moxie back then, he's 31 now and lost another 2-3 mph, jered weaver status
speaking of which what's up with all these dudes going from 90+ mph, 95+ in lincecum's case, to pedestrian speed in one offseason lately
i dont ever remember this shit happening all that often before it happened to like verlander and sabathia
why is Lincecum a free agent? what happened?
>>67462358
mariners are going to be in contention for the entire season solely because of how bad oakland and anaheim are
>>67462897
Long term potential issues from their initial mechanics now causing actual issues?
>>67462901
Exploding ligaments
So outside of non measurable theories like choking in the playoffs or collapsing, what will keep the Cubs from winning the World Series?
They played like absolute dogshit for the first 5 innings with a collage of fuck ups and they still were able to hold the gnats to 3 runs and managed to come back to tie and win the game. If they can beat a playoff team on they aren't even running on 6 cylinders, what could stop them? Even if starters get injured they got so much depth, the replacements will produce just as much.
So explain why? More than Heyward, that guy needs to be benched like Castro. was.
>>67462909
And lastros
>>67462960
that doesn't explain every case, sabathia had a really smooth delivery and verlander was mechanically sound as well
weaver was all over the place sure, lincecum not quite but still out of sorts, now apparently king felix is quietly down 2-3 mph in velo as well but the word is no one's noticing because he caught it early on and is throwing more offspeed to compensate and keep his numbers up
i just don't understand how it happens overnight with some of these guys, like david price is probably going to be another one, when he came in he was throwing 97 consistently and now he can still get up to 95 but he's sitting around 92-93 and he's only 29
Why are white sox fans so insecure? cant you just stick to your team and actually pay attention to the game? maybe even oh idk...show up to the field?

again i have no rooting interest whatsoever. neither team is in the division of the team i root for. i'm just saying you can't call another team little brother when they've done more than your team, and done more recently.
your entire argument is people show up to cubs games. attendance has nothing to do with what happens on the field.
which nothing has happened on the field at wrigley for 110 years. the cubs are absolutely a great team this year but it's a little unreasonable to expect everybody to just bow down when 3 generations, two world wars, a stock market crash, a great depression, the civil rights movement, jfk's assassination, the vietnam war, richard nixon, iran contra, gulf war, 9/11, and the fucking boston bombing have come and gone without the cubs doing a fucking thing.

That actually wasn't my point. I haven't seen the banhammer for talking about the Cubs even if you're talking shit for or against. What I observed was people saying who cares? Or ugh not this again
It's the community that give a shit about an unrelated team basically. Here though you see different due to the anticubs "Sox fans".
I hold that true Sox fans have been through too much pain and agony and suffering in recent many years that we focus on our own team doing well for now and not some unrelated team outside of the division and not even in the same league.
Hell I personally hate the twins and dislike the Tigers and Indians far more than I could ever hate the Cubs.
This is dropping some truths. The anti Cubs" Sox fans" are simply not true Sox fans.

>>67467208
For myself I only care about the Sox doing well. Could give less of a crap about the Cubs if they do well or suck.
Also in the case of last year, the Cubs in the playoffs didn't matter to me because after yet another disappointing season I had to suffer through, with the Sox eliminated long ago, baseball was essentially over for me after that first few days of October.

Nyger Morgan, Braun, and Fielder thought they were so fucking cool, then got raped by the Cards in the NLCS. I absolutely fucking hate the Reds, another faggot team with faggot fans. NOT SO FAST CHUBS
Anybody know what happened to that BIG PED ANNOUNCEMENT that ESPN teased last week?
'cuz I'm still waiting.
>>67468253
I'm still waiting for the collapse.
the M;s have been playing too good lately tbqh
they still haven't had a 13 game losing stream and Adam Lind has been absolute shit at first base

Very good question. I wondered the same.
Its probably nothing though because fucking E!SJW

Yes.. Any sport in a primetime spot on national TV sells out. Even if it weren't on national TV it's still pathetic. I hope the Caps are playing cause that's the only excuse but even then there should be more fans.

we've been bitching none stop for over a month you fucking cuck
I just found these unopened 1998 hr record chase cards with mcgwire and sosa in my closet. Are the roid cards worth anything or should i just open them?
>I really wana open them
>>67468321
they wont have fans until they make a playoff run
>>67468432
I saw whos and memeiners fans dealing with their shitty teams for years before 2015, where were you? Especially damning to you leafs that the jays had a 22 year playoff drought and you weren't repping. The Mariners are on a 14 years one and the whos on a 7 year drought and you still see them around. Want to explain that?
>>67468441
Cards are generally worth nothing. But never open anything unopened.
The Nationals are way ahead of schedule. They werent supposed to start collapsing until July.
>>67468421
Tigers suck and Nats fans don't exist until they realize their team is good.
>>67468468

If im not losing out on anything more than 50 bucks im opening them.

They might, actually
>>67468455
i was here in the basement years before 2015 cletus, im really trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are intelligent enough to realize archives exist and you can google jays gamethreads in previous years

That image is like justice for 2007 to mets fans.
>>67468493

>>67468462
I have a rookie Barry Bonds card. It's worth about $10 in the condition in it's in, so I'd probably get about $2 for it at a card shop
Big money
>>67468506
I think they're between 10 and 20 unopened so i dont give a fuck!
>nast
>>67468493
It's nowhere even close to $50
>>67468502
Jays werent ever in the basement that much. They were eternally 81-81 until 2015
>>67468523
I opened them. They're pretty cool cards tbqhwy
>>67468171
i think there is some indirect financial incentive to giving them starts. if they happen to go on a run it increases interests and heightens tradeability.
its how tampa bay can make trades like alex torres for logan forsythe, brad boxberger, and matt andriese.
torres is now out of baseball.

Oh, I thought it was just a regular pack of cards from '98...could've possibly been worth something but probably not very much and probably not $50. Don't listen to some idiot on the Internet next time. Should've looked up what the pack was worth online, but it probably doesn't matter
>>67468670

I did. Only like 10-20 bucks unopened. I dont care. Even if it could've been more in future i doubt it would be worth more the enjoyment i get from actually going through the cards. Id rather share that with my son someday then keep them all wrapped up for a few bucks. I dont get that

marlins had a run taken away on a hr because realmuto (the hitter) passed the runner (ozuna)
>>67468304
I don't think anyone expected them to go anywhere, thus no one even bothered to shit on them. I was just hoping for a slightly above 500 season desu, but this is an incredibly pleasant surprise.
If they're still standing tall after this month (rangers, royals, indians, and mets) then it's time to get excited.

>>67468706
no my grandfather is a marlins fan and i watched them with him when they made their run in 97
>>67468769
they faced a bunch of shitters in april, but they were mostly on the road and had the least days off of any team in the AL. a lot of people try to discount you for beating down shitters, but making sure you always beat the shitters is part of winning a division.
may is a month of tough teams. i don't care if the royals are sub 500 by the time we play them. the white sox have been absolutely horrible vs them for as long as i can remember. except for the last series they had for them last september at K when the sox swept them but the royals didnt care because they already had a 50 game lead on comedy central.

Not that specific clause, but team option is about as close as it gets

no player would ever agree to a contract like that

I'm pretty sure the union would never allow something like this to happy.

This seems like a logistical nightmare and poor city planning to be honest. Remember a few years ago when the Ravens had to open the season on the road because the Orioles were playing next door? That was because it would be a traffic nightmare to have both games happen at the same time. Baseball stadiums and football stadiums should be far from one another.
