I'd argue though that there was maybe one or two guys that you could replace Kobe with and still have success (Arenas and McGrady)...I never thought highly of guys like Carter when it comes to playoff success. You could argue that McGrady wasn't either, but I felt he had that clutch gene that Kobe and Arenas had, he just never had the right amount of supporting cast and was always injured.

Arenas was an overrated chucker, and the one thing literally missing from McGrady was the playoff gene.
The Triangle requires post up players. The Triangle refers to the Triple Post. That's why Kobr was so good at it. It fit his skillset perfectly. Ray isn't a good fit, except maybe at the PG spot since that is relegated to spot up shooting under the Triangle.

Yes, he's not as good as Adams but he's one of the only ones that can put pressure on Aldridge with a height advantage. You could see Adridge had to create more space against Adams and Kanter and was able to get more physical with them as well with smaller guy advantage the refs give. So he had to work harder against them but obviously he still played well regardless. Even his shitty horrible shots attempts were going in.

My first impressions from the game:
1. OKC started with Adams on Aldridge, Ibaka on Duncan. Parker was extremely adept at reading what the defense did. If Westbrook went under the screen, they just rescreened and Parker got an even closer midrange shot. If Westbrook chased Parker, then Adams/Ibaka had to help and that opened up Aldridge for a midrange shot. If the big is dropping back, that's what you're going to give up. I don't think Aldridge shoots this well throughout the series from that spot.
2. The bigs for OKC have to communicate better. Duncan would screen for Aldridge on the baseline and the bigs would not switch on time, again leaving Aldridge open.
3. OKC were terrible in transition, not knowing which man they had to pick up on cross matches and giving up too many points like that.
4. It's tough for OKC to get good offense from their current make up. Roberson is a total non factor and Westbrook struggles at the rim as the paint is packed. They had a couple of offensive rebounds, but that weapon was nullified overall.
4. I might try bringing Roberson over from Green on the weakside to help on the Aldridge pick and roll, but the rotations have to be clean and precise. I'm not sure OKC are smart enough defensively to do so.
