Now that Räikkönen is back on form, he will probably stay at Ferrari. I was counting on Ricciardo going to Ferrari, Verstappen replacing him and Kvyat staying at Red Bull. Where does this leave Kvyat now? I think Red Bull is eager to promote Verstappen. Do they relegate Kvyat back to Toro Rosso or what? What if Kvyat beats Ricciardo in the points again?

I am not sure why anyone would go to Ferrari. Ask Alonso about it. Ferrari just falls short time and time again all the while burning the most money. If I was RIC I might consider just sticking with RB when you consider the fact they literally have designed a chassis better than both Merc and Ferrari it's truly amazing.
>>
>>66891358
when hamilton was stuck behind massa, his race engineer told him "use the best of your blessedness, we know how big it is, use it" to which lewis replied "i am"

Red Bull and Mercedes have bigger budgets than Ferrari.
>>
>>66891335

Kimi is now basically confirmed at Ferrari. If he keeps performing on this level there is literally no point in not retaining him. He is just about the best no. 2 on the grid and his pace and race craft is pretty much spot on right now.

Ricciardo isn't going to go to Ferrari and why would he want to? The Red Bull is strong and will continue to be strong in the future. Ferrari are pretty famous for choking when new regulations come into play in recent years. I'd bet money on Red Bull winning a title before Ferrari does.

Verstappen doesn't seem to be quite as on fire as he was last year so maybe he will just do another year at Toro Rosso. If Kvyat consistently steps up then I don't think Red Bull want to replace him unless Verstappen is shopping around elsewhere (where would he go though? Red Bull is easily his best bet even if it means waiting another year). If Kvyat keeps sucking then he's done but it all depends on how this season goes. Teams probably want consistency in their lineup when it comes to the new regulations being introduced.

My overall guess is that if performance remains similar to this race for all drivers, the Toro Rosso, Red Bull and Ferrari lineups will remain unchanged into 2017. Kvyat really needs to start showing he can be consistently on form because his form is good, it's just that he seems quite panicy and inconsistent at times.

>>
>>66891280
on the meme front hamilton did some major philosophical breakthroughs mid race reducing descarte's famous statement in half
>>
>>66891452
No way RB has a bigger budget than Ferrari. Ferrari develops an engine.
>>
About to watch full WEC race for the first time. Anyone i should root for? Wobbler?
>>
>>66891377

Ferrari hasn't even won a title in nine fucking years and even then they basically lucked into it.

Ferrari at least have seem to have acknowledged the need for evolving and developing and have restructured their team quite a bit from the Alonso days and aren't AS much about dat italian arrogance anymore. I think engine-wise they will be fine in the future as well but their chassis is a concern. Isn't James Allison their main designer guy? I mean I'm sure he's good but is he Newey good or Mercedes good? Probably not.

Even now you can see that if Red Bull had a Ferrari or Mercedes engine they would be dominating because their chassis is already faster through turns than anybody else.
>>
>>66891490
>but is he Newey good

You are aware that RB isn't Newey good anymore either, right? He's fucking left F1.

Also, he murdered Senna.
>>
>>66891468

What's deluded about this? That Ferrari will keep Kimi? Ferrari kept Massa through all of his shit so I'm sure Kimi will be fine unless he specifically wants to retire.

Reminder that Kimi outqualified Vettel this race and probably would have been close to Vettel or even in front of him in a normal race without the incident.

Red Bull won't drop Ricciardo and if I were Ricciardo I would much rather stay at Red Bull than move to Ferrari. They have undoubtedly the greatest chassis designer in F1 history and assuming that they can piece together a half-decent engine, they will be the best car on the grid.
>>
>>66891515

No he hasn't. He has "retired" from coming to the races, or coming to every race but he is still very much involved in the designing and development of the car. He is still employed by Red Bull and maintains an active role in designing the car
>>
>>66891533
No he's not.

>On 8 June 2014, Red Bull Racing announced that Newey has extended his contract for the next few seasons giving Newey a wider responsibility including “new Red Bull Technology projects”

He's not doing shit for their F1 car nowadays.
>>
>>66891516
Thinking one semi decent performance makes him the best no. 2 driver is pretty deluded. Kimi has been on a decline since his comeback.
>>
>>66891358
Initially we saw nothing but Hamilton saying "I am" on the radio

It was obviously an answer to something but it was rather amusing when it looked like he just suddenly says "I am" while driving.

>Ricciardo isn't going to go to Ferrari and why would he want to?
Because Ferrari. Like any sane driver he wants to race in the reds. Still though I agree that he probably is not going to leave Red Bull because I think Ferrari wants to have good drivers with good relationship and Ricciardo + Vettel could be bad for that since they already have history together.
>Verstappen doesn't seem to be quite as on fire as he was last year
I'm not on the Mad amx hype train but you have to recognize that really he was only not on fire this race. Two previous ones he qualified great and raced well. you shouldn't always expect mad moves just because his the hot shit in media right now. He still did pretty good.
Since Verstappen is the hot shit Ferrari might be tempted to sign him so some other big team won't get him instead. And lets face it Kimi is getting old even if he is doing well. Ferrari wants long term drivers and also not just one top tier driver but both so they can win champion ship.
Also Kvyat has been shit for last two races. Like really shit especially in qualy. Now he had good race but he needs to have much more of those and much better qualifyings.

He got bullied all the way off the track and still lost his front wing. He played the start as carefully as possible and still got cucked. The irony is of course what Ericsson did was ABSOLUTELY an old murdernado-tier Grosjean move.

With this level of bitching of course he probably does belong with Vettel at Ferrari :^)

Everyone should take a minute or two and read some of the ridiculous comments on the various Mercedes social media accounts.

The #TeamLH44 cult are some of the most obnoxious idiotic fans in all of sports. When Lewis has issues with the car, it's a conspiracy. When Nico wins, he's cheating. And when Lewis wins, Nico is a big fat crybaby for not getting on his knees and performing a celebratory fellatio to his Blessedness.

The rest of the images are piuntless. The Ferrari's are off to not-our-faultland and kvyat just continues his race.

Why does this always happen? Yesterday after qualifying I was in a good mood despite Kimi's botched lap, because he could do better in the race, surely!

Not to write a sob story but whatever. My father has a cancer and he has always been a huge F1 fan, he is the one who got me into this sport. Lately he has been gotten a lot worse and to be honest he will not live long, he has been told. I have been visiting him every weekend for the last 3 months and we have watched the races whenever they're on. During winter testing he hoped he could still watch races this season with me. Thankfully we have now seen some races already. Every time my dad says trustingly "Kimi will still win one before I'm going away, I tell you he will" and we are really excited when he does good!

Today he was particularly excited because Kimi has looked good in the car and Mercs are not so dominant. Before every race I hope for the best, because the joy this sport brings for my dad is so good to see. But once again something happened. Kimi got hit. It was again a horrible feeling for me, not just because of the sport, but because my dad was just devastated and fucking angry again :(:(

I know I shouldn't worsen my sorrow because of a sport but I can't help it. It fucking sucks Kimi!
>>
>>66911784
I'm sorry to hear that. But even if Kimi hasn't been winning your dad has had the chance to spend some extra quality time with his son (or daughter, what do I know). And I'm sure that is even more important than seeing Kimi win one.

And don't worry about how you should or should not feel. Feelings aren't rational, so it's not really strange at all that it affects you.
>>
>>66905400

Is autism actually a thing?

Or is it just kids acting weird because their parents never made them confront real world problems so they just became really introverted and socially reclusive, and the parents just continued to enable that behaviour?

Because to me it seems like the latter.
>>
>>66911971
Thank you! I know this is a stupid place to seek sympathy, but it's such a comfortable place for me. And you are right, I am grateful for our time this year and it's bigger than this "F1 thing" between us!
>>
>>66912028
That's because the only "autists" you've ever interacted with are ones on 4chan, which are the latter.
>>
>>66912046
No problem.
It might not be the first place people usually think about when looking for sympathy. But there are people behind every post, so there is the potential for it. And if this is a place that makes you feel comfortable, then it's not so weird that you seek it here.

This is literally why he will never drive for a top team. He is the happiest man when things go well but this is their first poor race and he was shitting on the tires and car already on Saturday and now he's shit-talking other drivers for racing incidents.

No one is going to want to employ a driver like that especially when they can just get some cheap beta to be Barrichello 3.5
>>
>>66912115
This. It's become cool, especially on 4chan, to be "autistic". There are people who actually do have autism, and it's not nearly the same as the "autism" people claim on here. I had one in my 3rd grade class who would stand on his desk and pulled his pants down and scream at the top of his lungs. I'll never forget that son of a bitch, freaked me the fuck out
>>
>>66911103

Just check 11:40
>>
>>66912288

That sounds pretty mental but there are lots of kids who do some weird shit, usually because their parents aren't spending enough time with them / they're not getting enough attention or social interaction in other settings, like daycare or whatever / there are no rules and/or consequences being set on their behaviour.

How do we know it's not just purely a product of environment?

Ferrari's Spain engine upgrades are just mainly reliability based, so they won't be getting any closer I don't think. Rosberg will win 9 races in a row.

Wasn't the fastest lap only 2 seconds off the 2015 race fastest lap?

Granted its a series with refueling but it's still a bit embarrassing for F1 that a LMP1 car could probably finish in the points in a F1 race.

F1 really needs to do something about the race pace of the cars. Of course the cars are 100 kg heavier than in quali but still, it's ridiculous how they are anywhere from 5-8 seconds slower per lap in the race than in quali. I don't know if this slow pace stems from the fact that there simply isn't enough fuel to make the car run any faster or if the teams actually drive as fast as is viable, taking into consideration the ridiculous levells of tire degredation. They should really have WEC-style tires desu. Degradation yes, but enough grip and durability to be able to be pushed for a long stint. F1 really needs to figure out how to encourage actually pushing things to the max in the race again.

>>66920624

Probably Vettel or Verstappen. I don't know if Verstappen is ultra dedicated specifically to F1 but all he does with his life seemingly is race. If that BBC piece is anything to go by, he does simulator work for fun, races karts with friends and family for fun, and just drives and races every day for hours.

The least dedicated on the field are probably Gimi and Hamilton. Hamilton does a bunch of other shit and Gimi's pace has always been more or less what he can do without any real training. I think Gimi could be a much better driver if he cared at all to refine his weaknesses, but his "natural talent" has honestly carried him so far and many other drivers have noted that he can basically find the limit of the car and himself in a matter of a lap or two.

I don't think either Vettel or Max really come close to Schumacher though. Fun fact though, Ross Brawn said that Barrichello is actually a very underrated driver and that his senses for setting up the car and giving feedback was arguably better than Schumachers. And that Rubens was a very smart and "educated" driver in the sense that he could diagnose problems and knew how to solve them based on setup changes etc. Pretty much the optimal test driver, severely let down by the fact that he wasn't a great racer (and being partnered by the GOAT).

hamilton got pole - sent to the back of the grid. having qualified 2nd, maldonado started on pole. he lost the lead at the start, had a slow pit stop and had older tyres than the chasing alonso, yet maldonado held him off.

The bit I love about the article I refer to most, when I mean where it went wrong is where all those people (Jean Alesi and Jurgen Dilk) refer to Schumacher driving at, and sometimes pushing the edges of, the absolute limit, and comparing it to Senna.
And this was when he was 'just' a two time WDC.
I don't really see that kind of talk about the current grid
>>
>>66920654

Red Bull will win the title before Ferrari does. Probably not this year though.

The fact that they are 3rd and 4th in China, which is a track that basically is the opposite of what suits their style of car, is incredibly promising. Red Bull only even won in China once during their whole time so it really isn't the type of circuit you expect them to be fantastic on. If they aren't memeing about their PU upgrade, I think they could actually be on course for having the best car on he grid. It was already pointed out that their chassis is the fastest through sections that are not so engine-reliant (ie corners).

It also seems a bit like Mercedes and Ferrari have both hit a wall with their development to some extent. Red Bull genuinely seem quite surprised that theyre as good as they are, maybe because the development of the other cars hasn't been as significant as they assumed. It's also the end of these regs (which are super tight anyway) so Mercedes have most likely maxed out their potential at this point.

Ferrari's in season development is also somewhat compromised by the fact that their head designer dude is probably still MIA due to the fact that his wife died unexpectedly.

There is a small chance that Red Bull could already win the WDC this year. Think about it, if they get a proper engine upgrade from their watch maker, they could end up on front row in quite a few races. If Mercedes can't be at the front, they choke like there's no tomorrow. Ferrari will profit from this too, since Mercedes is forced to apply a different race strategy. They are weak racing other competitive cars, and their cars can't follow for shit. Could become an interesting season.

>>66921045

I get where you're coming from but it's still a bit optimistic. I do not see anybody beating Mercedes this year. Nico's lead is already significant and he will be able to keep it under control for quite a while as long as he comes second. Kvyat, who basically had a "normal" race in China without any real incidents affecting his pace or performance, ended 45 seconds behind the Merc. This in itself is a huge margin, and even with variables like strategy etc, it seems really unlikely that Red Bull can make this time up.

In "normal" races where the Mercs start from pole, get a good start and drive along from there, they are unbeatable. They are compromised when they have to drive behind other cars, but I don't predict this to be the case too often. Also if there is a truly normal race with nobody out of position, Red Bull's will be finishing 5th and 6th at least for now. I could MAYBE bet on RB beating Ferrari in the constructors, but I just don't see them having the performance to be capable of beating the Merc's consistently. Who knows about the engine upgrade but I still highly doubt it will revolutinize them completely
>>
>>66921185
Yes if a Torro Rosso or a Haas started in the position of Kyvat in the beginning they could have gotten podium too this race, I think.

Not that the Red Bull didn't hold it's own but I'm just saying that there were favourable circumstances.
>>
>>66921250

True, what I am saying though is that Kvyat's race was clean for the most part and he really didn't spend too much of it actively battling or wasting time and compromising laptimes. Surely there was a bit of damage limitations and being careful to ensure you make it to the end, which reflected in his comparatively slower laptimes compared to e.g. Ricciardo during the final stint. Red Bull executed a good strategy and comparing Rosberg's pace to Kvyat's pace is more or less representative of where the teams are right now. This could actually even be generous towards Red Bull as there's no real reason for Rosberg to push hard, even though he claims he was "pushing" the whole race.

My point being is that Red Bull is strong but they have a shitload of time and ground to make up if they want to be in a winning position in a race in which both Mercs and Ferraris are where they are supposed to be.

Also Haas was absolutely nowhere this race so they would have finished out of the points no matter how high they started

True but like I said, if they had the favourable circumstances like Red Bull had then someone like Grosjean would have maintained position in third just like Sainz or Verstappen would have, or like Kyvat had done.

This years' RB's, TR's and Haas cars are really close in performance and even almost as good as Ferrari making this year the most fun we have seen with the v6's.

Oh, fuck off already, 99% of your posts are utter shitposts, do not contribute to whatever is being discussed at the time, and never bring up any new info or points to talk about. Literally every post you make is an attempt at attentionwhoring.

As for the bait image, that was more for your implication that Vettel 'pulled shit' on Gimi yesterday. That's pretty much bullshit, and you'd only imply something like that if you're baiting.

And I'm the one with small dick syndrome?

Nice projection, Ganesan. Allow me to kindly remind you this is 4chan. Shit-posting is a given here.

As for Vettel-Kimi. It is debatable. Perhaps you''ll be interested in noting this:

"The race stewards did not take any action over the incident and the pair appeared to bury the hatchet by clinking their champagne bottles on the podium but continued to discuss the incident as Rosberg celebrated his victory."

Instead of debating like a man you are riled like Vettel. If there was nothing in the incident why did he bully Kvyat? Why did he keep apologizing again and again to Kimi and his team? He revealed his character traits, Ganesan. Just like you are doing post by post.

You're just butthurt i am an Indian because 4chan was an exclusive hideout for you, a special snowflake. Now you have to deal with a reality again.

Happy butt-surfing, Ganesan.

>Please do not consider suicide intolerant faggot.
>>
>>66920684
So if Hamilton goofs off more often than not, how did he win his last 2 championships (I'm pretty sure he was still fully dedicated in 2008)? Granted it was with the best car, but he handled Rosberg, who seems to be pretty dedicated as far as I know, pretty well, especially last year.

Is he THAT naturally talented or is Rosberg just shit?
>>
>>66921074
ah this probably happened, thought it all happend a bit quick because i was still on the side of the track or it looked like i was
>>
>>66922004

>Shit-posting is a given here.

Sure, but when your posts are 100% shitposts, you'd be better off re-evaluating life, m8.

I mean, it's not even Australia-tier shitposting, that stuff takes effort and usually elicits a laugh. Yours is low-effort, low quality.

>>66922004

Ron Benis kept him in line for the most part, till 2010. It was only during/after his horrendous 2011 that he began loosening up, and consequently becoming worse.

As for last year, I think Rosberg had a poor year, rather than Lewis having a particularly great one. Poor mistakes in Hungary and USA. Plus reliability issues at Monza and Sochi made him look worse off in the final standings than he really was
>>
>>66922157
and he runs his own twitter. shamilton does not.

also, rosberg used to do daily mail columns. his fees for these columns went to the grand prix mechanics trust (mainly assisting mechanics from the 1960s+).

hamilton writes bbc columns. his fees probably go to the ayrton senna museum.
>>
>>66922004

It's not like Hamilton is complete shit now, it's just that I think it its fairly evident to anyone who's seen him drive for his whole F1 career that he isn't necessarily quite as cutting edge quick and strong as he once was. I'm not a Rosberg fan but Rosberg finished 2015 season on a much stronger level than Hamilton, and seriously who would have thought that Hamilton would lose to Rosberg at all at any stage, let alone consistently?

This is just speculation but if/when he loses to Rosberg a few more times I think the pressure will get to him and his performance will become even worse.

MY FUCKING SIDES ARE GONE:

>In order to race in F1 this season, Rio had to pay 15 million Euros to his current team, Manor Racing. After receiving funds from sponsors like state-owned oil company Pertamina and the Tourism Ministry, Rio now has to pay a remaining 4.2 million Euros (Rp 62 billion) to Manor to secure his place in the team

>Yesterday, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Communications and Information held an event to launch a fundraiser for Rio. However, it was no ordinary fundraiser. The government teamed up with 5 telcoms – Telkomsel, Indosat, Smartfren, XL Axiata and Tri – to set up a system where people can donate money to Rio via SMS text messages

>By texting “RIO” to 7788, you will be charged or have your pulsa deducted by Rp 5,000, Rp 4,500 of which will be going to Rio’s cause the rest goes towards tax. It was calculated that 12.4 million SMS will be needed to reach the target 4.2 million Euros. The SMS hotline will be taking donations until July 17, 2016

MALDONADO WILL REPLACE HARYANTO AND BTFO GERMAN HAMILTON.

seriously though, jean todt's son is his manager - he can find sponsors.

Yeah I know but come on it's a Manor seat, how are you really supposed to do anything prideful in such a car? He has so much experience in GP2 which at the end of the day isn't that much slower than F1 anyway. Vandoorne is obviously a different caliber driver but he stepped in an was able to perform well immediately. Even "4 seasons to a championship" Palmer has been doing ok I guess

I'm also legit shocked it costs fifteen million for a Manor seat. Didn't Maldonado pay like 20 for his Williams and that was a considerably better car

lel it's not even that crazy from Vettels POV and Kvyat's POV it is completely justified.

Mostly Vettel's fault, also Kimi's for locking up and being a fucking idiot as usual.

How to avoid this from happening: Vettel breaks a tiny bit more and yields the position instead of correcting by turning left into teammate. Just give up the position and get him back on the kilometer of DRS straight

That's good since it's more difficult to drive compared to the Fulvia and the Mini. What I did was just progress through the years (skipping Group B and coming back to it).

It's the logical progression to faster and faster cars. The 1970s Escort is probably my favorite car in the game. Beware the Stratos. It's fast but you will struggle for a very long time.

They were dirt farmers like 1-2 generations ago and have literally no context or understanding of style, taste or anything international because they, or their parents (who then taught them how to act) grew up isolated from the world under Mao, or the post-Mao vacuum.

I'm fairly certain Chinese people don't actually like or enjoy anything and they just copy what they see in western media (or in Chinese media, which is a poor copy of western media) and wear things and buy shit that they think gives other people the impression that they are cool and rich and successful. Of course you can say the same about Westerners as well but it's just a lot more blatant and soulless in China. Like to the point that Chinese people will wear any brand of clothes just because they saw it on tv, or buy a Volkswagen and replace the logos with Ferrari logos because they saw Ferraris are associated with wealth, and then tell people they drive a Ferrari and expect everyone to believe them (which they probably do). Or shit like buying blatantly fake clothes just because it has a logo on display. Or buy a fake BMW with a 1.3 liter shit Chinese engine and FWD and not even think anything of it because they think it MAKES them look successful.

They are from a different planet.

I get that Sky is a British channel but they must be aware of the fact that it is probably the most common pay channel to watch F1 on globally? I've seen it all over, which is why their blatant Ham fanboyism is so ridiculous

Mika Salo is literally a cuck so I can see why he's so buttdevastated.

The fanboyism is annoying, but I understand the bias, he's their most successful driver. Crofty and Ted are the worst, I think MB is, most of the time, more tasteful in his appreciation. It's not their fault that they provide the best english-language coverage of F1. I torrented a NBCSN version of China GP and it was just terrible. Two of the three commentators had no clue what was going on, literally worse than Crofty. And the fucking commercials every 10 minutes. Pic related. Just shameful.
