Doesn't really matter how it should be. What matters is what the law says. He has a contract with the UFC. It's not the UFC's fault he can't fight. There's no breech of contract there, he was offered fights, he refused them, then he was banned. Plus, he could still fight on UFC shows in Europe or Asia or even here in Canada if he wanted.
If the UFC refused to give him fights, that would be one thing, he might have a case then. That's not what happened.

Mandrama Meltz fanboy here. He brought up Wanderlei's situation a while back. No it doesn't. Well it depends actually. While Wanderlei is "retired" (which is a tactic some fighters use to get out of contracts) it won't work. People asked Meltz why can't he go to Japan. Wanderlei's contract, as most UFC contracts has an international thing written into it. Wand could fight in Japan where the NSAC shit wouldn't apply to him if his contract wasn't an international one. But did you see all the shit Wanderlei was talking about UFC? At this point they'll never let him go. He wanted to sign autographs at a Dave and Busters with Royce and some other guys. UFC pulled the plug so he wouldn't be able to. So basically Wand isn't allowed. Plus you owe UFC fights. Meltz mentioned some contacts expire. But a majority you have to fight out. If you don't fight out your contract you're basically UFC for life. Examples could be BJ Penn. He still has fights left. So if he wanted to go to Bellator for big money he couldn't. Same goes with Anderson who signed a eleven fight deal I think. UFC and Anderson knows he'll never fight it out. Could the UFC release him right now? Yes. Has Dana said that if a fighter isn't happy with the org they will release them? Yes. Will they? No.

Well, Wand said he would never fight for the UFC ever again. I don't think the UFC gives a shit. Doesn't cost them anything to just keep him on contract. His contract says he gets paid per fight, if he doesn't fight, they don't have to pay him. Only one who really loses is Wand. Don't know how long his contract is, but I gotta think it's at least a couple more years.
He shoulda been smart and played ball, but instead, he pissed off the people who decide if he gets paid or not.

I actually already am fairly decently trained. Did sanshou for two years and Muay Thai for five. Problem is, I fucked up my knee and shoulder pretty bad, even a couple years later, I still don't have full range of motion. I'd probably need surgery to get close to 100%, and I don't really want to do that.
