I live in St Pete and it's pretty nice. It's a pretty artsy city (at least compared to the rest of FL) with a high gay and young adult population so it's not as crazy or crime-ridden as the state's other major cities.
I used to live up north so I really appreciate how laid back and nice the people here are.
