Gotta say Michigan and Ohio State are probably the most overrated teams in the history of college football. The evidence is in their bowl records - both have losing ones. This means they beat up on B1G teams all year and get beaten by teams they're overmatched with in the postseason. Sure they take care of business every now and then, but usually? Embarrassed. No wonder Ohio State has .000 all time records against South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida State, Florida, and Air Force. When these teams make bowl games, they're actually good. Ohio State and Michigan don't have to be good to make bowl games.

Actually, the reason the B1G has an abysmal historical bowl record is because up until recently B1G teams were not allowed to play in bowls unless it was the Rose Bowl, and for times not even allowed to play in that. So, for most of their history, OSU and Michigan would always have to go against whoever the best Pac 12 team was, and were never able to pad their historical resumes with bowl wins against lesser opponents. That's why all the Big Ten teams besides Michigan and Ohio State have really low numbers of bowl appearances, and why almost all of them have all-time losing records in bowl games. The Pac 12, for example, often had better luck in other Bowl games than the Rose Bowl, which padded their overall bowl records. The B1G had no such luxury.
