Spread is how many points between the teams at the end of the game. For example Warriors -9 means you think that if you took off 9 from the Warriors points they'd still win the game i.e. you're betting on Warriors to win by 10 or more. Lakers +9 means you expect Lakers to be within 9 points of their opponent, if you were to add 9 points to the Lakers' points and because of that they would win the game then the bet wins.
