Claiming Navy as a "quality win" is really bad since Navy basically only played high school teams outside of ND and Memphis (who themselves were kind of hype babies).
Notre Dame has really only played two decent opponents the entire year, losing to Clemson and beating Temple. The rest of their schedule pales in comparison to other contenders, especially Oklahoma State after they beat TCU today.
I'd have us at like #11 or #12. If we beat Stanford and OK State and Baylor both lose I think we'd have an argument then.
What's killing us more than anything every year is USC being bad. We really need them to be decent and in their conference championship conversation to help out our resume, because without that there can be years like this one where the out of conference opponents we scheduled were supposed to be decent but weren't good at all (Georgia Tech).

1. Iowas defense is legit. You have a couple nflers in there including the national int leader Desmond King.
2. Iowas Oline is also legit, which more than makes up for any talent gaps in college football. You cannot run your five wide natty light bullshit spread when Iowa steam rolls you 95 yards down the field for five minutes.
3. Very well coached. They do not make mistakes. Iowa is +11 in turnovers and will probably lead the nation since they are healthy again.

I'd be more inclined to hold "TCU is the only team they've played" against them more than "TCU isn't who we thought they were." Before then their best win was West Virginia. They struggled against Central Michigan, needed a phantom first down to beat Kansas State, and nearly blew it against both Texas and West Virginia. If Baylor beats Oklahoma and then wins in Stillwater then I'm fine with letting them jump one-loss teams like Alabama and Notre Dame into the top four, but I don't think they deserve it quite yet. The Big 12 schools are as far down as they are because they all have incredibly backloaded schedules. Apart from the four-team round robin that just started their collective schedules were basically Oklahoma at Tennessee then a bunch of nobodies.
