If you don't the sport just start with world cup history (it's fascinating) and watch great teams
The big leagues are really EPL for overall parity and La Liga for intense title races
Don't bother with bundesliga (bayernwins), Serie A (juvewins) or Ligue 1 (psgwins4monthsearly)
Your best bet is to watch a season of play in PL and then after that you can decide what team you want to support, get a good look at how each team sets up and how they play, and which of these suits you the most
And then for CL you can just stay unbiased since it's pretty much the European super league, and that's where the most hyped games are
Also, buy Fifa, the online is fun, the game doesn't get boring like you think it would and it gets you a good knowledge of a wide range of players
