Every year, Sky’s assortment of pundits claim the current World Championship has been the best ever, and this time they might just be right. After shocks, comebacks, blistering performances (and a much needed sprinkling of comedy darts from Asian prelim. players), all that was missing was a 9-dart finish. Gary Anderson fixed that yesterday evening, executing the perfect leg on his way to a 6-0 demolition of Jelle Klaasen. An average of over 107 & a near-50% checkout success rate for the defending champion makes him favourite to retain the Sid Waddell trophy tonight. Gando’s opponent will be Adrian Lewis, who raced into a 5-0 lead over Barney before - in true Snackpot style - he began to dream about his post-match kebabs & took his foot off the gas. Barney won the next 3 sets, and for a moment it looked like the Dutchman might complete yet another unlikely comeback, but it wasn’t to be as Lewis secured the ninth set to advance to the final after a 6-3 victory. A reminder that the Premier League entry list will be announced after the final, so stick around for a healthy debate on what a cunt Michael Smith is once the arrers have finished. Coverage from the Ally Pally begins at 18:30 on Sky Sports Darts/Sky Sports 1.
On a related note, for the /180/ regulars at least, this will probably be my last OP. The new job I’m starting soon involves quite a bit of evening & weekend commitments, so I’ll be watching a lot less darts unfortunately. /180/ is the only reason I come to 4Chan these days & I’ll be in the threads when I can, so cheers to everyone that read my OPs, and here’s hoping for a classic WC final.
