With respect to your lack of goal, to me it seems as you are unsure of what you wish to devote your future to - I would consider this with high importance prior to commencing any HE course.

Any engineering discipline is very safe in terms of employment and can be very lucrative - even in the case of downturn or dismissal - so your options are based. In my experience however, 'robots' are unemployable in the long term as we are too independent and proud to follow rules imposed by others - we steer our own ship. As such, a sustainable goal should be self employment. Nevertheless, it is ALWAYS good practice to achieve a formal higher qualification and develop a skill or trade to fall back upon if self employment is not successful, needs to funded or does not come to fruition.
I would encourage you pursue education and experience going forward - or try your luck as a second year university student applying for an internship in an engineering field.

I work as a bus driver for a tour bus company. I drive around the countryside doing days out for pensioners pretty much. I really enjoy it because I love driving (got my license at 17 and dove Go Karts professionally when I was younger).
Anyway part of my responsibilities is making sure everyone is back on board. I cannot leave until everyone is on board, as a few of the customers are potentially vulnerable and we visit remote locations so we cannot leave them. You are supposed to take a register when they get on but desu you can just tell by looking everyone is there and by asking them. Usually this has been fine and all the other experienced drivers do it this way and don't bother with a register, but today I got fucked because of it.
It turned out one of the elderly gentlemen had a slightly weak bladder, so he sneaks off behind some trees to take a piss while we are boarding the coach. I then drive off thinking everyone is on, when back to Cheltenham, his wife comes up to the front of the bus and asks where her husband was. Turns out he had told her to tell me to wait for him, and she had fucking dementia so she just forgot about it until halfway home when she realised he was supposed to be on the bus.
Company had to send a taxi out to pick him up, he was fine luckily so that is okay but they made me resign when I got back to the depot.
Also sorry about impersonators I went to have my tea and people have just made up their own versions. I didn't get fired from being an IT guy or a porter. Not that there is anything wrong with those jobs.
