So why do people on 4chan genuinely think being a "normie" is a thing?
From what I understand, you genuinely believe you're somehow different or not apart of the rest of society? As if it's a bad thing to be a functioning member of society? That you should reject all social norms and that everyone else who is "normie" is a terrible person?
Why would one want to reject being "normal" anyway? It's possibly the best thing out there about being a normal functioning human.
Do you honestly find it more normal to isolate yourself in your house every day of your life and sit on your computer or console playing video games, watching tv shows, looking at porn, and sitting on 4chan all day long? This doesn't at all seem healthy. And as someone who's experienced it on and off, it doesn't feel good.
I still didn't think I was anymore unique or special for being a social pariah. It felt terrible. And it wasn't something I was proud of. Being unemployed, friendless, or almost friendless and sitting on my computer all day.
I don't understand the notion that some people on this website actually believe being a hateful, cynic on 4chan is a better "life" than being happy and spending time with friends, family, girlfriends, boyfriends and actually enjoying your life outside of the digital space.
Just something I've been thinking about after years of use on this website.
I still don't believe we're any different from the rest of the world. You'd be naive to think you're somehow different for using 4chan. Which is despite popular belief, an incredibly popular, notorious website used by millions of people of all ages world wide.
tl;dr You're not special for using 4chan. You're not unique for liking anime, or different music, tv or film. You're not special for being a social outcast, depressive, or unemployed adult.

My parents separated when I was 15. I still suffer from depression and anxiety. I drunk too much and crashed my car. I had to serve community service. Things external to the mind, so to speak. When someone's a loser without achievements or capabilities, they can either accept their uselessness or fight back.
How? By creating their own value. "I am valuable because I will it and my will is superior to anyone else". I spend my entire middle and high school life being a sperg who went around trying to take up new hobbies and to be liked/accepted. Every time either that didn't happen or I began to feel a click would never come. One time I took up these group guitar lessons and the longer it went on the more the group got closer as I began to fade out alone - not so much a matter of them or me not trying to prevent that, there was just a disconnection that everyone felt and it began to play out in a manner where everyone started to talk and look at me with pity.
