I agree on hypergamy, but only because it's a HUMAN trait, not just a female trait, using the idea of hypergamy being that one constantly aims "trades up" their partner.
In fact, I'd go so far to say the hypergamous "up trading" is a trait most animals have. It makes sense PURELY from an evolutionary standpoint to seek out the best possible genes for your offspring.
