Apparently in a pauper thread yesterday, someone made the claim that no one cares about video games.
Is this the general sentiment of rural southerners or does it extend further?
Growing up everyone talked about video games, even the girls. I college everyone in my major was on about the latest games.
When I mention to people that I work in games as a character designer they go apeshit and shower me with praise. Hell, I have even gotten laid from doing such.
What are your sentiments on this?
Also why are the denizens of this board claiming that no one cares?

honestly do you even listen to most video game players, it's either i do this because i have to and sometimes i do this because its fun but fun stuff doesn't work in those games.
honestly when i was a neet i would of been so much better off if i just saved the cash i wasted on video games and related shit and just went gambling instead.

They will play some halo, cod, fifa or smash bros but don't care about time sinks like WoW or Counter Strike

Computer games (TFW is 'video games') are just an entry pastime into math and physics, which to pursue to implement them in your games. As a matter of fact, there's hardly such a thing as a game, just simulation/modelation. tl;dr if you still play them, it means you're too stupid to realize your potential to imitate and improve on them.

I despise those games as well,
I am speaking solely about game art and things of that nature.
Truth be told I am more of a console gamer/rom player, I am not interested in leader boards or MMOs. I just like playing interesting stories and seeing interesting game art.
Platfomers, and rpgs are more my jam.
