I went to visit my brother this week, and while I was there he made himself a sandwich using the end bit of the loaf. I realised i had never seen him do this before (sounds odd but think of the amount of times that you watch someone make a sandwich, then the probability of that sandwich using the end of the loaf).
Anyway, he made the sandwich with the outer bit of the loaf facing inward on the sandwich. As in, the crusty bit on the inside. When i said that it was weird he said it was the normal way to do it. I swear im right in thinking that most people (if they use the end bits of the loaf) would make the sandwich with the crust bit facing outwards, right?

Yeah, I've managed it. I did ultimately end up going back to my parents house for a few months, when some conspiratorial former housemates tried to stab me in the back. The way to do it anon is to have enough that you can cover rent of a new place (not forgetting agency fees and deposits and whatnot) and simply start looking around for a place you'd like to live in.
