has anyone seriously considered just up and leaving for the rest of your life?
>>
>>28458485
yes, I am considering moving to some other state after college

away from everyone I know, it'll be a perfect fresh start

I am thinking about moving to Hawaii

I'm considering leaving for the magic bus in Alaska or the magic bus in the sky
>>
>>28458485

I'm moving to Tijuana
>>
>>28458485
After college I'm moving to Colorado, I can reinvent myself there
>>
>>28458485
Yes, but then I remember that I love my material possessions too much.
>>
>>28458485
Did it. Moved to NYC when I was 18. Never looked back.
>>
>>28458565
No its terrible here

Seriously stay the fuck out no one likes it here
>>
I avoid being outside unless I have to be. My comfort level would drastically decrease. I wish I was a risk taker.

That and I don't drive, I'm not driving a death machine.
>>
I've dreamed of living off the land in Alaska like Into the Wild
>>
>>28458517
This. There's no way in hell I can make it in either my home town or the city near my college or even the counties surrounding that considering how bad of a reputation I have.

I'm considering going away, reinventing myself, and making it. Maybe if I make it far enough I'll come back for my high school and college reunion and rub my success in everyone's faces.

>on second thought that may not work out well since they'll never see me as anything else but the social punching bag.

why is it always so difficult for people with this specific disposition
>>
I want to live in one of those places where you're on a really steep road in one of those small 3-story houses that aren't very big around, just tall. a place where it rains on weekends and neighbors bring pie and stuff like that. but if i couldnt have that I'd like to just roam around, settling in small towns for awhile while getting to know the larger cities around it.

I wanna get my degree and then become a yuppie in california
>>
if i had someone to share it with yes
>>
>>28458662
Trust me nosy neighbors aren't a good thing. They do nothing more than spread rumors about you in order to define their ingroup against you, the outgroup.

It will be no different from what you're experiencing right now.

Neighbors that mind their own business on the other hand might do that very mildly but at least they have the decency to leave you alone.

>I wanna get my degree and then become a yuppie in california

you know, living out of a van with just a gym membership would be pretty cool. you can still shower in the gym, it's basically like having a little moving apartment - only problem would be food

The only problem with doing this here in Cali is a lot of cities and towns have caught on that people could live in their car and have made laws to prevent people from going against the norm - you can't sleep in your car in a parking lot in a public park, for example, and there's pretty much nowhere you are allowed to park without paying for a parking spot overnight

so what kinda ends up happening is you live in a car in a semi permanent spot and end up just being semi-homeless

cool idea though

>>28458646
I would be totally down for moving to alaska too, it's far enough away from everything, it has beautiful outdoors, you can just fucking drive for miles and hours on end...
we should create a mini robot-city. might actually be quite nice to live with other people kinda similar to me
>>
My gymnastics instructor left to join the circus. I've been wondering if I should do the same.
>>
>>28458757
It's expensive though isn't it? If I lived there I'd wanna bike or use public transit. I hate driving. I also really like the climate of the area.
>>
>>28458776

you have to be a mega normie to join the circus senpai
imagine how much socialization that requires

gets far too cold for my comfort

Now, somewhere out west, where it's warm and dry and you can be a lizard-man, that would be my jam. It's most hospitable to vagrants in the warm dry regions.

Honestly I'd hate being a hobo.

Traveling is nice and all, but having a roof over your head that you can come back to after seeing that mountain is better than having to sleep under a bridge and not know where your next meal is coming from.
>>

You don't have to be a hobo anon. That's just what these pipe dreaming retards dream about for some reason.
>>
>>28458485

Yeah. It's pretty fucking rough. Might as well condemn yourself to a lifespan of about 40 or 50 - not that some people want to live past that age, myself included.

Minor medical shit could be life threatening - a simple infection can kill without antibiotics. Then there's food, water, basics - whatever else. It's implied you'd be living on the fringes of civilization, not 100% subsistence innawoods. And you could live this way and still live in a major metro - just become a bum and scavenge out of trashcans and sleep under the bridge.

Better get used to the elements - you'll be sleeping in them a lot.

Didn't have any sort of connection with my parents. Had no immediate family, didn't see my friends very often. Didn't know what I wanted to do with life and I thought college was a meme. I saw all the people around me doing 9-5 shit until they dropped dead, and that was it. That scared me. I used to think about running and then I gradually realized that I had no attachments to my life so there wasn't really anything to stop me. My dad insisted my room be barebones when I left, so I gave a lot of my shit to Goodwill or just threw it out. You don't realize how much shit you own until it's time to move out and you think about how you've never touched any of it before, but you still own it for some reason. I have a 98 Ford Explorer that is reasonably maintained. I knew a bit about maintaining it myself. Loaded two duffel bags of clothes into the trunk along with things like my CD collection, some camping cookware, inflatable mattress (still never used it) and similar stuff. I had been working since I was 17 and never really spent money on anything so my bank account was good to go. I cancelled my cellphone plan for some outrageous fine that my dad laughed at me for, and bought one of those trashy gas station phones that you pay for minutes on. Then I left. Stopped talking to my parents and past friends for quite awhile after that. I went and did my own thing down south. The only reason I fell out of that mentality is because I decided that I wanted to do more with my life. I go into the army with an Option 40 Ranger contract on my MOS next month. Let me tell you that when you live out of your car, its not fun to try and find past references and past addresses for the army's background check.

He was born in the summer of his 27th year
Coming home to a place he'd never been before
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again
You might say he found a key for every door

When he first came to the mountains his life was far away
On the road and hanging by a song
But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care
It keeps changing fast and it don't last for long
