This is why you have one registered gun for each caliber of ammo you own, and then you buy an unregistered one. If the crack down comes, bury the unregistered ones out in a field, and dig them up once you turn in the registered ones.
I don't keep cash because cash is constantly losing its value - by about 2% per year. Having 30k in the bank means that it will be worth 29,400 in one year, 28,812 in two years, 28,235 in 3 years, etc.
Better to spend that cash on something you can use, or something which will retain its value.
