Sure you can. You have to do the same things fatasses do to lose weight, only the opposite. You calculate your TDEE and eat 500kcal more and you'll gain a pound a week. You just have to be diligent about counting the calories. Use MyFitnessPal like /fit/ does. They have a weight gain option.

I've went from 225lb to 201lb in a little over two months. I just weighed in this morning actually, I cant wait to break the 200's it's literally 2 pounds away. Lost 40 pounds, got my mom to stop buying junk food and cook better meals. My dad as a result lost 55+ pounds since he is on disability and would normally eat junk food all day. Ideally I would like to lose 25 more pounds. Feels good to finally be able to run without being exhausted after a just a minute or two.

There's a lot of merit to it. It's more about changing our behaviors and how we interact with food. In all, it's a lifestyle change. It's because people fail to see it as a lifestyle change and learning how to eat properly is why the overwhelming majority gain back the weight. They continue to fall for the "diet" part of it instead of seeing it as more in the lines of "proper nutrition."

Now as to how Slim Fast comes into play? It's associated with "dieting", not "proper nutrition." Proper nutrition involves knowing your macros and micros. It involves knowing which foods give you a balanced system to operate. Slim Fast is giving a person a short cut so they don't have to factor that stuff in. Also, it's not as fulfilling as say a bowl of oatmeal since it's liquid calories and has no fiber. Fiber is essential for making us feel satiated with our meals because it contains bulk. Liquid calories are easily digested and broken down quickly, thus making us feel hungry faster. You'll feel more satiated more for longer periods if you eat your calories, not drink them.

By relying on Slim Fast, you use it as a crutch. That's okay for a little bit until the guy can get on his feet and learn about proper nutrition. But it involves change, and that's something that the overwhelming majority do not learn.

Hell. I once did a 8 hour a day job walking constantly for four months. Still didn't lose any. I went to the gym over a summer and lost a stone, then regained it at uni due to eating egg rolls while studying.

Always been fat. Probably always will be. Just wish I'd keel over and die in honesty.

You can lose weight. You just need to count your calories. Get MyFitnessPal or Lose It! and put it on your phone, and follow the instructions to setup goals.

January 2015, I made a resolution and stuck with it. I was 250lbs at 6'1". By January of this year, I was 185 lbs. As of this moment I am 175. Move more, eat less. I never committed to it really, just went for walks that turned into runs over time, cut back on soda and beer and cooked most of my own meals.

It was going pretty great I was riding to work on my bike every day and expending some mad energy and getting to work with a nice post-ride endorphin rush.

But there's no showers at work and I was pulled aside and told to stop riding to work because I'm covered in sweat when I get there... I don't ride to work in my uniform and I always towel off when I get there as well as deodorize the fuck out of myself but apparently it's still a bother for some.

I was a fatass and I did an exchange to an Australian university and all the guys I became friends with loved to play rugby and they were super nice and also hated candy and junk food etc. I don't know it's weird but seeing the way they integrated sports and decent (they were health fanatics, just if they were going to pig out they'd do it with like a steak rather than a box of twinkiea) health just made me realize I was living the exact life like all the fat people from Wall-E.

Started losing weight in October, have gone from 224 lbs to 139 lbs since then. I have about another 30-40 lbs to lose but I am happy with my progress I guess. I am not a total lard monster anymore at least.

Used my little money to buy supps, adjustable weight set, and asking my parents to buy me a scale (I'm 19 but a poorfag going back to Uni this fall)

Honestly, I feel like shit every day, but I actually love that sore muscle feeling so I'm just gonna keep on lifting every day. Feels good. Hate cardio, makes my head foggy but I force myself to do it, force myself to jog, etc. Just started a week ago.

1200 at your height/weight is a pretty high deficit. Even without exercise and eating 1500 calories a day would help you lose weight. If you do want to eat only 1200 to get there faster make sure you get enough protein and fiber at least so you will feel full. Also cut out any sugar you can.
