Ok, so here's the deal

>Get diagnosed as Autistic fuck last year
>Get sent on courses to deal with Anxiety, Depression, all that stuff
>first session of Autism stress, someone flips RIGHT THE FUCK OUT
>First time I heard someone reeeeeeeee irl
>They move to one-on-ones
>Get in these lessons with random woman
>I think she's got worse brain problems than I do
>Her only advice is "It's just a different way of thinking". Well fine dipshit, but since normies can't understand me how the fuck do I translate my speech into dipshitese
>Depression advice was "Try challenging those negative thoughts". I don't have reasons to live cumdump
>Anxiety advice was "Find a way to calm yourself down"
>So, as I see it, I'm doomed forever because Normies are too fucking terrified of offending me and implying I'm in anyway different to the braindead masses to actually try and help me

But other than that Im just fucking peachy, anyone else had to deal this shit and if so, how did you get by?

24, got myself diagnosed against parent's advice

My parents apparently knew since I was MUCH younger but didn't file any of the things I'd need due to the fear that I'd be whisked off to a school for retards and never amount to anything

Instead, I'm incapable of talking to people, lost my last two jobs for speaking out of line and have fuckall qualifications. thanks mom

>>27688863
lmao. So they tell you what to do but they don't tell you how to do it.

Holy shit, okay guys we need things to change around here. And by around here I mean the world. We need to regress in some areas, and progress in others. If conservative economics are better then lets stick to it, and if some liberal social policies are correct and true, then we should also adapt them. No need to be one sided, lets just fix this shit. I think the best way to do that is to win the hearts and minds of all the men, then influence them in a way that gives them a more mature world view. Let them pass on that world view to their children, and they to their own children. Once we do that, the world will at least better than before we put in that effort. I won't make any bold claims so as to not sound completely insane, but we can make the world marginally better I suppose.

Who would hire an autist?
It disqualifies you from Military Service
Who would date an autist
And now you have an excuse to act autistic, you won't get shit for it. If you got diagnosed young, you'd be whisked away to the special only classes. You wouldn't be able to learn what little social skills you did, because you'd be conditioned to act like that fgt who freaked out.

You would be that guy basically. The only reason you're not is because when you did something like that it was discouraged; and because the people around you acted normal you learned to pretend to be by emulation
>>
>>27688863
Maybe you should pretend to be low-functioning? That way any job you get will be easy shit and they'll probably pay for your housing. You might even find a qt retard gf.

Two centuries of psychology and what do they come up with? "Dude you just gotta think positive bro, like for real, just chill out man".

>>
>>27691367
Autists can't help being "that guy". If they try to pretend to be a normie they just end up being "that other guy". It's best to give up, isolate yourself, and get whatever bux you can. True autists can never successfully integrate into normie society, it's always a ticking timebomb until they break some stupid fucking normie rule and get kicked out of the cool kids club.

Talk less, smile more.
Don't tell people about your day/life unless the story is relevant. (and never about things considered personal or private)
Don't grin too wide
Don't use a monotone while talking
Adopt the mannerism of those around you.
Don't be loud, loud is obnoxious
Don't be/try to be the focus of attention
Don't do anything you wouldn't see a white person doing
Don't say anything you wouldn't see a white person saying
Don't open your eyes too wide. (you're not Rasputin or Charles Mansen)
Always remember not to scowl at people
Don't dress in loud, mismatching colors
Keep your hair short/buzzed if you're not going to comb it.
Don't be too clingy with the first people you get along with
Go to places where people with similar interests as you go
Talk when you think of something clever to say
Don't try to get qt's until after you've grinded your social skill level at least a month or so
Anyone care to add more advice?

>WHEN I DO THIS I JUST SHOW MY TEETH AND EVERYONE GETS SPOOKED

Look into a mirror. Whatever smile looks good to you should be okay. Everyone is different and that is fine to a point.

>I CAN'T SEE MY OWN FACE DIPSHIT

I have the same problem. My face just looks like a frown when it's just neutral. That's just a disadvantage you will have to live with. This goes with smiling more.

>I CAN'T FUCKING TELL

Then you probably need to listen to people speaking more.

>THEY CAN TELL I'M FAKING, DON'T GIVE ME THAT BULLSHIT

This is a self confidence issue not an other people judging you issue.

>WHY EVEN HANG OUT WITH THEM IF I HAVE TO PRETEND NOT TO LIKE THEM

You're not pretending not to like them, you're not constantly bothering them. Especially to normies when they can tell you're off/ don't have a lot of social interaction they think there is a reason for that. It's ingrained into people that if someone is avoided there might be a good reason for it (you're a robot/ you cling on and annoy people/ you like to share your foot porn after hanging out a few times)

>MY INTERESTS ARE DOING THINGS ALONE

Then you need friends/ normies to like you because? We both know this isn't true and you want validation. Which is okay everyone wants that.

>MY CLEVER ISN'T NORMIE CLEVER, YOU'RE TRYING TO TRICK ME YOU FAGGOT

Something funny, you find things funny sometimes yes?

>GIRLS AREN'T QT IRL THEY ARE HAIRY AND HUGE

If that is the way you feel about people maybe you should try and see it from their perspective. Do you think being called hairy and huge is a good thing?
>>
>>27692526
The problem isn't your advice, it's the fact that you're giving it. You're essentially saying the equivalent of "well if you do X Y and Z, people won't know you have down syndrome!"
>>
>>27692297
>WHEN I DO THIS I JUST SHOW MY TEETH AND EVERYONE GETS SPOOKED
Just grin slightly then, the talk less is the important part
>HOW DO I KNOW IF IT'S RELEVANT
If it takes place at the same location, involves the same people and/or activities
>I CAN'T SEE MY OWN FACE DIPSHIT
Look in a mirror, make a face that isn't a scowl, remember how that feels. Make the same face later, when you're not sure if you're scowling or not
>I CAN'T FUCKING TELL
Alright
>THEY CAN TELL I'M FAKING, DON'T GIVE ME THAT BULLSHIT
You'll learn to act at some point. As with all things, practice makes perfect
>I'M NOT THAT KIND OF AUTIST
Good
>I DRESS EXCLUSIVELY IN NEUTRALS AND HAVE NORMAL HAIR
Good, if you have dandruff/acne get anti dandruff shampoo or anti acne facial wash
>WHY EVEN HANG OUT WITH THEM IF I HAVE TO PRETEND NOT TO LIKE THEM
Because if you don't they'll think you're creepy. You want to be layed back and calm. You can like them, but don't sure more enthusiasm than they do, and don't ask them to stay with you when they're about to leave or any of that type of shit.
>MY INTERESTS ARE DOING THINGS ALONE
Get some new hobbies, try a non-team sport like Chess or fencing.
>MY CLEVER ISN'T NORMIE CLEVER, YOU'RE TRYING TO TRICK ME YOU FAGGOT

sorry anon, well I wasn't that guy that he was responding too. I just read it and tried to break down his responses and why he responded that way.

You're right xyz wont make you a normie.

Thing is you don't have down syndrome you're just socially inept. You can do stuff that will help probably.

Another thing is that life is entirely random, you have so very little control over what happens. You might never find a good friend. You might find all of them tomorrow. Who knows.

I am not giving you advice per-say. I am telling you how I perceive the world, which so far has led me to hide some of my flaws as a social animal.
>>
>>27692720
Here's the thing, most normies have two incorrect beliefs:

>If an autist can talk normally on the internet, he doesn't have some form of retardation! He's just a normal guy that's shy or awkward, and needs a helping hand!
This isn't the case. I can talk normally on the internet because I have as long as it takes to read and re-read my posts, and there aren't any interruptions or distractions. I don't have to worry about looking in the other person's eyes (I still have my doubts that normies actually like this, it seems like a trick), my "body language", or their "feelings". It's just text, which is the simplest method of communication short of morse code. Right now we're playing checkers; talking in real life is 4th-dimensional chess.

>If I help the autist with specific details, that will solve the general problem!
It should be self-evident why this isn't the case. The issue is with the processor, and you're trying to write new software. Unless you can edit my brain, I'll still keep making the same class of mistakes even if I manage to dodge some specific cases due to trial and error. Autists get frustrated with this because people have likely been doing this since said autist was a child, with predictable results. No, your advice won't be the magical advice that cures him. It'll just be another few things to tally up and add to the "situations that cause me anxiety" list.

Jesus, this is pathetic.
Genuine advice: do the opposite of all these things, because if you're going to live for the approval of others you might as well just kill yourself.
>>
>>27692878
>The issue is with the processor, and you're trying to write new software
That's pretty deep, and it makes a lot of sense. Write that down somewhere, you'll be able to put it in a book/article about living with Autism

>No, your advice won't be the magical advice that cures him. It'll just be another few things to tally up and add to the "situations that cause me anxiety" list.
Point Taken
>It's just text, which is the simplest method of communication short of morse code. Right now we're playing checkers; talking in real life is 4th-dimensional chess.
Morse code isn't simpler than text, it's a way to send text.
At least you have texting/Tinder, that's something. (Not saying it'd help, but it's something)

>>27692885
First, doing the opposite of these things for the sake of it would have you scowling at everyone constantly while being loud and obnoxious.

Secondly,
Personally, I see no other metric to judge someone's importance than how they are perceived by others/how others remembered them.

Happiness wouldn't work because all my heroes were sad.

Wealth wouldn't work because most of heroes were only middle class when they died. (And besides, that's influenced heavily by luck)

Strength could work, but I wouldn't put Aristotle and Arnold Schwarzenegger on the same level

No one is "important", people are either happy or unhappy. If you deny yourself for the sake of others you will not be happy. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional or trying to hurt you.
>>
>>27693037
>Morse code isn't simpler than text, it's a way to send text.
It's text with less options; you don't have lowercase or the majority of symbols, which make up the bulk of internet "accents" (i.e. how you tell what site/board someone is from, and how seriously they're taking their posts). Morse is essentially monotone text.

>judge someone's importance
Why judge importance? Do you need to be important or unimportant?

I refused to get tested when I was in high school because I thought it would prevent me for being able to join the military.

I never thought of that.
>Do you need to be important or unimportant?
In short, yes. I think a lot about what kind of legacy I'll leave behind. I don't want people to remember me as just some guy I knew.
>>27693131
>people are either happy or unhappy. If you deny yourself for the sake of others you will not be happy. Anyone who says otherwise is delusional or trying to hurt you.
Then I'm trying to hurt myself, it matters to me what people think.
>>27693122
>Wouldn't anything about me, my day or my life be "personal"? Also, what if something is relevant but would be considered "private"?
Technically, you're right about anything being considered personal. I'm using both of those to mean Sexual. No one wants to know you what you jerk it to, or how often, or if you're a virgin.
>How the hell am I supposed to know what "too wide" is?
Google Charles Manson/Rasputin. That's too wide.
>How am I supposed to know what tone of voice to use or what the tone I am using conveys?
"Why are you saying it like that?" "Don't use that tone with me."
By default, use a deep, kind of raspy voice. It sounds masculine, and it fits most situations
>how the hell do I do that without looking like I'm just mocking them?
Mannerism does not equal actions. If someone's standing, stand. If someone's laughing laugh.
>"speak up Anon." "talk louder Anon" "use your grown up voice Anon" "you don't need to say it so loud Anon"
Using a deep tone helps with this, as deeper voices are more clear. If they say speak up, speak up
>How the hell am I supposed to know if it's something NTs would find clever?

NT = neurotypical
NT/aspie = normie/autist

You typically don't see the former used here, he's probably a transplant from some dedicated autist forum.
>>
>>27693477
Social Status shouldn't matter? Personally, I always looked up to War Heroes, but reading their personal journals, I found many of them were traumatized by all their killing and deeds of badassery.
Maybe the affect someone has on the world should be the metric for this? Auddi Murphy probably changed the world when he killed 200 hundred Nazi's.

Not trying to be offensive, but What's it like to be autistics. (addressing any autists lurking in the thread)
>>
>>27694390
>What's it like to be autistic
There are multiple aspects to being Autistic such as Social difficulties, sensory difficulties and such.

Socially, it's like everyone has another sense, like a sixth sense and they use it to do most of their communicating. It's like there are these big inside jokes and everyone else is in on them except for you. Imagine if you were teleported into some village in china (or any other culture that is radically different from your own) and then had to figure out how to interact and communicate.

In terms of Sensory Processing. imagine standing in the middle of an interstate with cars flying by all around you. some construction crew is on an overpass nearby using a jackhammer, there's a helicopter flying overhead, and fireworks are going off.
Now try to hold a "normal" conversation.

Also, many sounds, textures, and other sensory stimuli are extremely irritating or even painful.

Well, with that example I was trying to explain the sensory issues with Autism. Also, I think that it wouldn't just be the noise, it would also bee the having all that commotion going on. even if you were deaf, standing in the middle of an interstate with cars flying by you at 70mph or faster would be quite overwhelming.

And for someone with Autism, being in a crowded and hectic place can feel similar to that.
