I'm literally too poor to afford stake. I don't think I've ever had some.
I mostly like medium rare, especially for tougher cuts like flank, skirt, etc.
Sometimes, rare is nice on a flat bread or with a lot of crusty bread/potatoes to soak up the juice.
This is all assuming one has a decent grill to get some char on the exterior.
If I'm cooking inside, sometimes I'll settle for medium so that I still can properly blister the seasonings on the outside. As long as the meat itself is tender enough, it's quite good.

Is steak autism a real thing? I've never seen any other community so buttblasted when someone wants a steak well done. There's literally no comparison. Does it really bother you to see someone doing something different? Its not your friend having a well done steak means you also have to have one.
I don't really get the appeal of steak or why everyone thinks it's so high-class or whatever. It takes too long to chew and doesn't really taste spectacular. Burgers are always a lot better.

The point is that steak can be eaten with lots of juices, but pretty much every other meat has to be heavily cooked. So doing steak well done just means it doesn't have any distinctive feature over other meat.
