I don't understand how so many people can work decade after decade, day in, day out.
I always end up getting a job and then quitting after about 6-8 months because I can't deal with it. The thing is, not all of these jobs were even shit minimum wage stuff. Two of them were good jobs, one being very good money and something society considers 'high status'. But even the money and social status wasn't enough. It's still work. I still left it. How can so much of the world work forever? I don't understand.
I wish I was rich enough to be a comfortable neet. I would sell my soul to the devil and do horrendous shit if it meant I would become rich overnight.

I went to uni, studied politics (predictable), but things like history, economics etc also work.
Rang around local MP offices whilst at uni and asked to come in for a week or two
Graduated and couldn't get a job. Rang around MPs again, got some longer MP experience, kept narrowly missing out on MP jobs, applied for public affairs jobs and got one.
It's relatively straight forward, just ask MPs to let you work for free in their office and ask to work at a political communications or consultancy company and then apply for jobs that are 'government relations/public affairs/ political consultancy/analyst' and you'll get one.
It's competitive to get started but once you get in it's easy to get loads of other jobs as companies always care about what the government is doing no matter whether it is a recession or not
I work private sector which means I get bonuses quarterly of up to 1k, a free laptop, Iphone, Ipad, fuel expenses, trips both by train and plane around the UK and occasionally abroad. A few free meals and the like.
I want to work for an MP though so I can sell my soul and become one myself so I'll be quitting soon for abotu the same pay but none of the benefits. Usually people who've worked for MPs who want to get out come and do public affairs but I'm swapping it about.

>Your work is important as a lot of govenrment regulation affects the very top of the company and those beyond such as shareholders etc, so you constantly have to be on the ball and often interact with very senior people or produce work for them. This can be good as it gives you a quick path to the top or bad because it can seem like a lot of pressure.
