Probably five or six years ago. I am 29 and started watching at like age 12. I used to buy VHS or rent them from the local comic store, then I bought DVDs for a little bit before finally discovering fansubs/torrenting.
I mostly "grew out" of it because I just stopped liking most of the popular shows. The last thing I watched and liked was TTGL, and I wasn't watching much at that point.

Maybe about 20, when I switched the reading mostly manga. Nowadays I only watch animated adaptations of stuff I've read or reboots of older series and even then I don't watch them all. Next season the only things I am planning on watching are JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Ushio And Tora for certain. Other than that, have too much manga to catch up with.
