I want to turn my life around once and for all. Honestly I'm sick of being unhappy and dead inside. Need a change. I really want this year to be different. I want to be reborn. How do you I genuinely improve myself as a person and see real tangible day to day progress? What should I do? All advice appreciated.

Same here, OP. This is the last day of my old life.
I will drink myself to sleep as always. During the next week I will have my last missing teeth replaced and by the end of the January I will be leaving to France to join the French Foreign Legion. No going back now, I want out of this game.
Live one second at a time. Do as much possible as positively possible. Don't stop to pine about minor bumps in the road. Acknowledge your comfort zone and force your way out of it.
