I've heard mixed things before~
Some people say they're really helpful whereas others say they just nod along and can't actually do anything.
Another thing that's putting me off is that my problems are quite uncommon compared to what most normies would have so I'm kind of scared about talking to anyone about them~
Some anons said I would be hospitalised before.
I just don't really know what to do anymore~

I ended up getting uni counselling when I was at uni myself. Had a horrible fucking time, started hallucinating and self harming and never left my room or ate anything. Dropped out of first year. Wasn't until april that I finally got help.
They can't actually do anything if you have genuine problems that cannot be solved with a simple talk.
The uni had a GP who I saw, they then referred me to the uni counselling. They then referred me to an actual NHS mental health service who took 2 months to actually contact me. They put me on various medications which I had very bad reactions to. Then they had to do more bureaucracy to let my GP back home know about it. Then the GP back home referred me to dramatherapy, they took 4 months to even contact me. They also referred me to another doctor who handled the medicine side of things.
Right now, I've been going to dramatherapy once a week for just over a year. I find it okay. If nothing else, it's someone to talk to.

The uni counselling had a kind of application form that people had to fill out before seeing them. Part of it was telling them your problems.
I basically poured my fucking heart out on that form.
I told them everything. From being 'that weird kid' at school, to mum saying "I love you because I'm your mum, but I hate you as a person" during one of our regular (and often physical) fights growing up, to thinking when I was 15 that I'd decide to live until I was 30 then kill myself unless I felt that life was good, to the state I was in at the time - unable to get a wink of sleep due to noisy nigger flatmates by night and construction work right outside my room by day, starting to lose my grip on reality by all sorts of hallucinations, self-harming because the pain was something I knew to be real, surviving on 10 biscuits and a cup of tea each day, anime being the only vaguely good thing about my life... it goes on and on.
If you do decide to get help, you will have to get used to telling your story many times to many different people.

I'm currently going to one and it's alright, but don't expect it to make you feel that much better and solve all your problems. You'll still be depressed. It's just a nice way of venting and getting stuff off your chest. They might even tell you stuff about yourself and your psyche that you didn't know that'll change your perspective.
Chances are, as said already, they'll recommend you go to a doctor about it for medication. It's just a recommendation though and they don't pressure you to.
My advice would be to go and see what you think of it, if it's not for you, you don't have to keep going but it might be worth giving it a shot if you don't know where else to turn. Make sure you go to each session with something to say though or it might be a little bit awkward.

Kind of, I would recommend it as you learn a fuckton of life skills. I was an engineering cadet then an officer when I qualified, perfect robot job as it entails minimal human contact, long trips away at sea where everyone mutually respects the fact that you just wanna "Do your time" and go home, if you play your cards right you can work only a few months of the year and then use the money you earn to live off for the rest of the year.
Working life consists of making sure machinery like the main engines, generators, sewage plant, A/C plant, fuel treatment & water treatment is ticking over, spending your 4 hour shifts (4 hours on watch 8 hours rested) reading novels and staring into space.
I grew sick of it tho because I have zero interest in it, thought it looked cool when I applied and just decided to go through with it.

My moods been really up and down today lads. Right now I just feel so down. I thought it was because i've been doing uni work all day, but even after a nap and a break, I still feel so empty. Playing vidya isn't helping, singing along to music isn't helping.
I haven't felt like this in a long long time. Years actually. I have no reason to feel like this. I have friends, outside of uni, at uni, in my uni city and home city too. I have a family who cares. I even might have an official partner soon. But I still feel so isolated. This is a really dark feeling I had 2 years ago that ruined me, I don't want it to come back. I can't go through it again.
I think I need to see my GP asap, maybe I've built a tolerance to the anti depressants, maybe this is just a one off feeling today.

I've been taking them for about eight or nine months. My GP started me off with Sertraline. They fucked me up badly at the start, ended up losing a lot of weight and having beyond dark thoughts.
I normalized after a while. Thinking about it they were pretty good for the anx side of things but did nothing for the clinical depression.
Ended up getting switched to a med called citalopram. Slightly better than the last but not by much, and they put an incredible hunger in me. Gained a lot of weight.
Now taking fluoxitine, known to American s as Prozac. Best I've had so far for depression, but anx through the roof.

I have to agree. The EU has way too much power over laws in individual countries.
We keep paying into it with little benefit that we couldnt just set up for ourselves anyway IMO. It drives up the currency value of other countries who honestly should have kept their original lower-value money. It hurts tourism for poorer countries like Greece.
