60k is enough to move out of your parents basement. I've lived in Edmonton on 30k/year before which was rough but doable, and I've lived in the more expensive Cold lake area on 50k/year. My quality of life then was pretty good and I still managed to save 7k in a year. Roommates are needed but it's still better than living with your parents.
I decided to quit my oil job before the inevitable layoffs and am in school now. The 7k completely dried up with tuition and furnishing my apartment, but I'm still independent and now living off a measly 1150 a month from my part time job.

Math is like a language you just have to keep practicing on your off time to get good at. Don't you have to take some kind of math for nursing? Engineering math is mostly applied math like calculus so we don't have to get too deep into proofs and theoretical bs. My calc professor is EXTREMELY based. Easily best prof.

I took IB so there was no space for programming unfortunately. It kind of helped but not really at uni tbqh. I don't know how valuable the degree will be which is why I chose Guelph since they gave me a coop and I didn't have to maintain an 88 for my admission to Mac coop (which sucks I heard) and UofT is too expensive, queens is too far.
