The issue is that the "self-improvements" aren't actually objective nor have anything to do with moral improvement, and I'm not going into relativist ideas. Guys who act abusively towards women often get into relationships, and I doubt anyone would say thats a good trait. I get that if you're faced between choosing a supermodel for a date, and somebody who is ugly, a person, no matter whether they are man or women, is almost always going to pick the supermodel. I don't have a problem with being shallow, I'm shallow to an extent too. I have an issue with just how low "traditionally good" moral values actually rank in this selection process, but how normies will say they're one of the most important aspects.
Comics like the one in the OP just back up the idea that you're morally less good if you can't get a date than somebody who can, when in fact whether you're actually a good person or not seems to rank lower in whether women choose you or not than how you dress.
