Why don't you spend your time drawing, anon?
I started off recently and I'm currently working on poses and anatomy. It's really fun and you actually learn something from it!
Read the >>>/ic/ beginner wiki.
>Why don't you spend your time drawing, anon?
But I do, Anon!
I draw weird furry porn for $$.
>>24482940
But anon I do original robot
>>24482968
It says that I have to read a lot of books and I don't want to do that.
Don't get me wrong, I just want to draw things, not become some kind of artist.
I try to but high expectations and low failure tolerance makes it a chore. Still, I keep going somehow
>>24482997
How did you start off? Any tips/tricks?
>>24483052
>high expectations and low failure tolerance
Yeah you're going to have to knock that shit off pretty much immediately if you want to succeed at literally anything in life.
>>24483085
>How did you start off? Any tips/tricks?
Drawing? Drawing furry porn? Draw furry porn for money?
Which bit are you asking about here?
>>24483088
that's how I ended up here desu. But yeah it's usually not so bad in general except for drawing.
>>24483052
Good job. I can't even get myself to try once.
>>24483047
Can you afford some cheap classes? You would be surprised how cheap they are and how much they can help.
>>24483122
Just drawing. Take for example the pic you posted, do you start off with a quick sketch? Did you draw a stickman first?
>>24483047
>I just want to draw things, not become some kind of artist.

But if you read books you can ACTUALLY learn anatomy and draw actual human beings, not wooden mannequins.
I guess there are people who git gud doing nothing but drawing from life but you'll improve quicker with resources. There are people out there better at art than you who want to provide you with their knowledge. Quicker to read a book than derive all the principles yourself (or, more realistically, miss a bunch of vital shit).
>>24483167
I'm afraid I'm a bit too much of an autismo to follow classes or something.
>>24483184
>implying every person that likes drawing wants to become an artist
i want to draw cute anime girls doing cute stuff but /ic/s guide only teaches me how to draw boring 3rd people
>>24483405
well the idea is once you've got a grasp on basic anatomy you can vary it to draw some sweet 2D girls
>>24483405
You have to be able to draw basic shit with a good grasp of fundamentals before you can get to where you want to be. You're trying to run before you can crawl.
>>24483479
>>24483461
but anime figures look much more simpler than for example pic related
I'm rarley motivated enough to fishish anything. I draw too much fanart. Hopefully I'll make a webcomic eventually. For now there's just unfinished sketches, pic related.
>>24483825
Looks really good, anon!
>>24483179
>do you start off with a quick sketch?
That is my quick sketch.
I went back in a little bit on the face and stuff to make them look right but most of that is just my initial lines right there.
Here, have some more weird porn.

You may as well just give up now, that shit-ass attitude is going to get you exactly nowhere.
>>24484197
i blame my autism
You need to understand the way a human body is proportioned and reacts in 3d space before you can simplify it and get decent weeb shit.
99% of weebs skip this step and just start drawing horribly deformed humans.
>>24484354
Word!
My fiend did and still does this. She refuses to draw anything not anime. She thinks she'll get a job in the game industry. I thought her anatomy was decent until I found out that she's using bases. Explains why she wouldn't draw anything but chibis around me.
>>24482940
I've tried to get into drawing quite a few times and I made progress but progress on toddler level drawing isn't much.
>>24483249
what exactly do you think an artist is?
Cause I suck at drawing and have other hobbies that I need to get better at.
You don't have to practice anatomy, anon. Just draw. Whatever comes to you comes to you. This is how you develop your own unique style. A friend of mine learned to draw like this. He never actually sat down and practiced, he just drew and over the years he got better. He has a very unique style as a result. Like nothing I've ever seen before.
>>24486222
>don't practice because muh style
>He thinks I have the talent necessary to achieve things
>>24486271
Talent is a meme.
If the only thing you needed was talent, infants would be pumping out masterpieces.
>>24486235
I don't expect you to believe me because I don't have any pics on my computer of his art (for some reason he insists on drawing pencil and paper, hates digital), but you haven't seen this guy's art. It's like a PTSD acid trip. Beautiful and fucked up.
>>24486316
sounds like your typical unskilled garbage, sorry to break the news.
people who are serious actually put the effort in, they don't make excuses and cling to meme arguments.
>>24482940
>dad draws like a god
>uncle draws like a god
>sister draws like a god
>too embarrassed to ask any of them for help even after being offered numerous timesGuess that's why I spend my free time here and not doing anything worth doing
