What I have a problem with is that the job was false advertising. They said 8-6 to justify the shitty 25k salary and don't mention anything additional at interview when I asked about hours specifically.

I'm not their slave, I am their employee. I don't mind working additional hours, so long as I am compensated for it.
I took the job on the basis of receiving 25,000 for 8-6 work. That is the contract I signed. If they want me for later they are going to have to compensate, because that is outside of my contract.
Anyone who sucks up with this sort of stuff is a fool and only serves to further perpetuate this sort of economy which is wrecking entry level jobs.

No, but my employer isn't shit so any extra time I work is either taken as days off once accumulated or paid as overtime. You chose to enter an industry where that reasonable graduate would have looked into before accepting the job offer.

The overtime culture is bullshit. When i've been employed i have worked twice as efficiently as the dawdlers who spin on their chairs for 10 hours and left after 8 hours.
