I never consented to being born. The only reason I exist is because my parents decided they needed something to keep themselves busy for two decades. We are the product of the previous generation's egotistical wish to nurture. And when I turn 18 I'm suddenly supposed to be "independent" or "responsible", according to some arbitrary societal construct that is. Cared for when cute and small, thrown aside the moment my voice drops and my facial hair grows out, forced to slave away for another 50 years only to regain my freedom when I'm old and broken.
I say no to that, I will leech off my parents and state until either I die or they die, or the state itself collapses.

I hear you OP. But I've yet to become NEET at 30 even though life has and probably always will be shit. Keeping busy keeps me sane. When I don't do anything for months living off my savings I become even more of a wreck. I refuse to work in the corporate shithole though after working various jobs from a delivery driver to a software engineer so am somewhat self-employed.

I'm severely depressed with borderline personality disorder and drinking/drug problems. Currently on regular welfare, but I hope to be on autismbux by 2016. Autismbux is enough to live on comfortably. I'll be able to get my own apartment.
Am I just going to live aimlessly though? Nope. I'm starting a volunteer position Wednesday and working on getting a subsidized gym membership so I can get to ottermode, as I'm currently a hungry skelly. I read books frequently enough already, usually about religion and philosophy. I'm considering joining a religion to see if that helps, because I want friends who don't drink and I certainly believe in God. In 5 years time I will be developed physically, mentally, and spiritually. Where would I be in 5 years if I kept working? If I didn't commit suicide I'd be in a factory or warehouse slaving away for a barely livable wage. I'd still be skelly if not skinnyfat, and spending most of my wagebux on booze and drugs.
Maybe for some being NEET is not necessary, but I need the time to improve myself.

I really, really fucking LOVE being a NEET.
It's objectively the best way to live. My years of a NEET have produced more study and self actualization than wageslavery ever had. The only 'reason' NEETdom is considered a lesser state of being is because it is looked down upon.
And I don't care anymore. I know that it works for me, and that I have achieved more in my relatively short time as a NEET than the vast majority of wageslaves could ever dream of.
