2D boards should stay because 4chan is an anime imageboard first and foremost, the otaku culture, although quite eroded, is still the center. SHOULD still be the center.
Imagedump boards are as much boards as /f/ was. (Although /f/ was awesome back in the day, /rs/ was damn handy too).
I've got nothing against them, they can stay or be canned for all I care, /w/ /wg/, /h/, /d/, there are better alternatives now. But it's still part of the Otaku culture 4chan was founded off.
I've been here since 2006 and I'd really love to have that old feeling back, when every board was Wapanese.
Although the 'old' mentality will never return, as 4chan became home to Stormfront as much as it helped various outcasts find a home, I bloody hope Hiro can do what Moot didn't and return this back to the pre-Chanology days. Hell, even the pre-GamersGate days would be fine.
Then again, maybe we all just grew up and I, like Moot, have grown out of touch. I can't find the "4chan is anime first, anime-related second and always, and then the rest" image of the post Moot made in 2013 (I think) but it really fits.
/aco/ is up for debate, remerging it with /h/ and /d/ like it was before might be a possibility.

/trash/ is unlisted though. Its also a better version of /b/. Yes /trash/ did not serve its intended purpose, but in the end it worked out. People really do seem to like it a lot. Avatar roleplaying is banned on every board expect trash, same with pony porn.

Problem is it was moot's idea. It was just meant to be a April Fools joke, but it took off so well moot decided to keep it. The real issue is Swaglord, the mod of the board, and easily one of the worst mods on this site. He could very well be the reason /s4s/ has not been deleted or unlisted yet.

Why do people complain we have too many boards? There's 69 boards right now. Even after 12 years that's still less than Futaba's 88 boards, and they have a much smaller userbase.
There's no point in culling low-traffic boards since they take up little resources, the biggest thing they take up is disk usage. Even then, a. New hard drives are fucking cheap and b. It's still much less than what higher traffic boards use since they have have a lot more threads in the one-week archive.
