Can we PLEASE have a separate board for star wars?
/tv/ is filled with star wars threads. Even if I filter tons of words there are still dozens of threads laying around

This shit is getting out of hand

At least make it a temporary board

It's sad how bad the janitors are at their jobs.
>>
>>383711
I wouldn't mind a TEMPORARY board for Star Wars.
>>
>>383712
There's another fucking porn thread up yet again!
>>
or at the very least a forced general
>>
>>383712
>believing /tv/ has more than one janitor
>>
Is this your first shitstorm, OP? There will always come times for boards when one thing gets a lot of threads, making a new board just to deal with one shitstorm is a terrible solution. Just ride it out and enjoy it if possible.
>>
there are too many Krampus threads! Please make /Krampus/ Hiroyuki.
>>
>>383756
>implying star shills and baitposters haven't been shitting up the board for six months
>implying it won't continue for as long as they keep making star wars products
>>
>>383769
It will continue, sure, but not with the same intensity. People get bored eventually about discussing the same thing over and over. It's the release date of one of the most anticipated films with one of the most recognizable brands in all of entertainment. You should have seen this coming a long way.

Sure, if it keeps on going for six months, or even one month completely clogging up the board I suppose your point would be valid. But I sincerely doubt that's what's going to happen. It has not even been a couple of days and you're already freaking out, calm down.
>>
>>383769
I've got news for you, the star wars nerds are never leaving now. You let them in and they set up shop. Might as well change /tv/ to /sw/ and be done with it
>>
>>383788
Downplay it if you must.

>>383790
>star wars nerds
0/10
>>
>HELP MODS I FORGOT HOW TO TIE MY SHOES PLEASE MAKE /shoelace/ FOR ME

I don't like this meme.

Banned

>Interracial Porn Threads
Totally a-ok
>>
>>383859
Welcome to /tv/

They're a strange breed of shitposters, they got their taste of meme magic and now they're hooked.

But unlike /pol/ they can't channel it into anything, so they've gone insane with the memes and the cuckolding.
>>
>>383711
>High profile release in a famous, popular franchise
>People aren't going to be talking about it nonstop for a window of time when it comes out.

Deal with it, nerd.
>>
>>383711
I didn't hear anyone agitating for a Breaking Bad board when there were over 100 BB threads at the same time the night of the series finale. Or before that, when there were 30+ every time an episode came out. Deal with it. It'll pass.
>>
>>383752
It's called a sticky and would have been in place as soon as /tv/ was 80% Star Wars IF the admin staff weren't paid to look the other way.

You see, with a sticky, people who like Star Wars get their own endless thread dedicated to that topic stuck to the front page and canhave as much discussion as they want. People who aren't interested in Star Wars can hide the thread and use the board normally without being confronted with spam, because the mods would maintain order by deleting unnecessary threads and directing the OP to the sticky. It's a good system and has worked great in the past.

The shills don't want that, they want to push it in everyone's faces, so they paid off the admins and hired a bunch of losers to spam STAR WARS STAR WARS STAR WARS all over the board so that the impressionable 12 year olds who frequent /tv/ will think /tv/ actually likes this cash-in sequel to an overrated kids movie, and will steal money from their mother's purse to go see it.

Reddit has political censorship and shadowbanning, and now 4chan has commercial spam. The whole internet is going to shit. It's fucking depressing.
>>
>>384441
A sticky doesn't solve anything, as soon as it gets 500+ posts people will leave it and create threads instead because it takes a long time to load and shit. If they even stayed in it in the first place, it's impossible to have any sort of conversation when a thread gets 10 posts per second.
>>
>>384445
>people will leave it and create threads instead
And those threads would get deleted and anyone persisting gets a ban.

Stickies always go much faster than other threads but it doesn't make conversation impossible, just fast-paced.

Allowing this level of spam on /tv/ does make discussing anything other than Star Wars impossible though because all other threads are slid into obscurity to make way for the exact same thread being created a hundred times.

I'd suggest making a The Force Awakens sticky and allowing maybe two or three Star Wars generals. One for the original trilogy, one for the prequels and a spoiler-free Force Awakens general for people who haven't seen the movie. Hell, maybe a fourth and fifth Star Wars general thread too if they can be justified.

Having dozens of active threads on the same topic with about 5 posts each is completely retarded and should be moderated. Some people actually disable adblocker and buy a 4chan pass to support this site and they deserve better.
>>
>>383754
I honestly think that tv only has one janitor who is active only a few hours per day.

Star wars thread do get deleted sometimes, I've seen it happen myself.

Don't do that. It's a security risk.
>>
>>383711
Where's the "OP is a faggot" option?
>>
>>383711
Why not just have the mods make a rolling live thread for it
>>
89 active star wars threads as of now
top fucking kek
>>
We don't need /starwars/, we just need a permanent sticky. Then make Star Wars discussion outside of it a 1 or 3 day ban.
>>
>>384009
Because that was once a week for however long that second half was and a day and a half for the finale. This star wars shit has been 6 fucking months and counting AND it's only releasing in America today
>>
>>383711
I actually really like the idea of temporary boards, this could be used for so much more shit so you don't have to create 20 different boards.
