So I'm seeing a lot of "look, he's Establishment" in here. I'm not sure how others feel, but speaking for myself, I'm aligned with the candidate who most reflects my values. In my lifetime, Cruz has been the closest to that, so in this election cycle, I support him. I think Trump is centrist at best with authoritarian tendencies, and if he becomes the nominee, then I'm afraid that would be the end of conservatism in the Republican Party. You may disagree with this, but this is what I believe, and I'm entitled to my opinion. So, in order to prevent this, I hope the candidates do everything that is legal in order to make sure Trump doesn't take over the Republican Party and I hope Cruz does everything legal to ensure he has the best chance of becoming the nominee.
What I dislike here is the double standard that I'm starting to see from some Trump supporters. Not all, but some. They claim that this is an Establishment tactic, yet they also say Trump is a great deal maker and one of Cruz's biggest issues is he doesn't know how to compromise. Now, Cruz is showing that he is capable of compromising in order to try to win the nomination, and some Trump supporters claim this is a major flaw that should bury him?

I'm in Nebraska. To do better here, Trump should give some boring presidential speeches, talk about getting the economy on track, the Constitution and winning in the Supreme Court. The population here is a high % of German background, rather serious and no nonsense, and Trump's freewheeling fun speeches aren't taken seriously. Cruz, even though he's a liar, speaks earnestly and that goes over better. It's more of a style problem than a substance one.
