I work in solar.
Soar blows for it's efficiency. Doesn't work at night
Wind turbines kill birds. Don't work on calm days
Mirror solar arrays kill birds. Doesn't work at night, has severe efficiency losses on cosy days

The problem with solar is storage, you need baseline output at all hours.
The problem with storage is that batteries are quite inefficient and require lots of rare materials to make.
Until you solve the storage problem "green" energy is just very situational like geothermal and hydro power or woo woo hippy crap like solar.

The devices producing green energy usually consume more energy to be fabricated than the total of energy it will deliver during its lifespan. Plus they are made of non renewable products.
Company push green energy because some government give free money so it's a very lucrative business.
