There's several problems there, I will try to address them all. The first is that spanish has more "degrees" of desire than english, for example "querer", "encantar" and "amar" would all be translated to english as "to love" but all mean different things, for example the Mc Donalds slogans, "I'm lovin' it", when you translate "love" to spanish one normally assumes "amar" but it is nonsensical to love a burger, so here it's "Me encanta". Second is that in spanish "querer" means "to want" when you use it on an inanimate object BUT "to appreciate, to care" you you use it on a living being.
You quiero una hamburguesa = I want a burger
but
Yo quiero a mi abuela = I love my grandma
same as
Yo quiero a mi perro = I love my dog
Third is that the SJW in question believes that the "want" in xir example implies in a sexual way, but it is not so because of what I explained in the second point. "Desear" would imply sexual or romantic feelings "Querer" does not.
