Turkey facing ‘biggest waves of terrorism in history: Erdogan

Turkey’s Recep Tayyip Erdogan said his country was suffering “one of the biggest waves of terrorism in its history”. He vowed to crush the Islamic State (IS) and Kurdish rebels believed to be behind a string of attacks. “We will hit these terrorist organisations as hard as possible,” Erdogan said in a speech in Istanbul.

The Deir Ezzor Governorate has had its share of bloody battles in the past; however, the battle on Sunday might arguably boast the highest death toll, as over 100 fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) were reportedly killed during their largest offensive inside the provincial capital this year. ISIS conducted a simultaneous assault on both the northern and southern sectors of Deir Ezzor City on Sunday, launching nearly 10 VBIEDs (vehicle borne improvised explosive device) at the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) defenses in the Al-Harabash and Al-Haweeqa districts – all VBIEDs failed to reach their targets. The ISIS assault on the Harabash School District facility was the first to be repelled by the Syrian Armed Forces after a two hour long battle that ended with the terrorist group retreating to nearby Sakr Island (Haweeja Sakr).

The Kurds already advanced well beyond Kurdish thanks to the SDF facade. They put non-Kurds on the frontlines so the local non-Kurds don't get alienated while most of their forces are still Kurdish.

But Mosul is a huge Sunny city with millions of people and the heart of ISIS power and I don't think the Kurds want to do anything to do with it anyway. Using force to capture it would probably cause huge amounts of damage and civilian casualties.

My guess is that the Kurds would want suport from the USA to cut off the ISIS supply routes but Obama doesn't want to mess with Turkey's "moderate buffer zone" in the north.

Maybe they are waiting for ISIS to destroy the remaining rebels in the border with Turkey so Erdogon loses his excuse to shell them.

If we have to believe the Western media, they are getting transported to Assad's private torture dungeon under his palace in Damascus where he personally shoves a wooden pole with a length of half a meter up the bum of every single prisoner, before doing botched eye surgery on them, before making human lampshades out of them, and putting the remains in barrel bombs which are aimed at bakeries held by moderate rebels and refugees. This all happens daily until dinner. This is what Western media actually believes.

The ISIS affiliate “Liwaa Shahada Al-Yarmouk” has reportedly captured the important town of Taseel in the Dara’a Governorate’s western countryside after a violent battle with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Nusra) on Monday afternoon. Liwaa Shahada Al-Yarmouk began the battle by the storming the rebel defenses in Taseel, prompting a violent firefight that would last for a couple hours before the Free Syrian Army and Jabhat Al-Nusra were forced to abandon their positions and retreat towards the city of Nawa. Several rebel casualties were reported from this battle in Taseel, including the leader of Jabhat Al-Nusra “Abu Adham”.

The loss of Taseel could be devastating for the rebel forces in the long run, given the fact that it is close to both Sheikh Miskeen (government controlled) and Nawa (rebel controlled).

Hours after liberating Kafr Saghir and its nearby points from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in northern Aleppo, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) discovered 18 militant corpses that were not evacuated during the terrorist group’s frantic retreat on Sunday.

Among the identified corpses that were discovered by the Syrian Armed Forces on Sunday was the ISIL leader “Abu Anas Al-Jazeri” (Algerian) – he led the terrorist group’s assault on the important village of Kafr Saghir.

In addition to the 18 ISIL corpses that were discovered, the Syrian Armed Forces reported that upwards around 30 terrorists were killed during Kafr Saghir’s liberation on late Sunday afternoon.

I don't know who lives there but at some point you run into Sunni majority villages and the Kurds don't want to take places where the people hates them. And the Kurds in Iraq are very different from the ones in Syria, in Iraq they don't have this Sunni/Kurd alliance that allowed them to advance so much in Syria.

Also one of the major political factions in Iraqi Kurdistan is allied with Turkey which makes everything more complicated.

On Monday morning, the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” entered the rebel-controlled villages of Abu Ajawah, Surouj, and Tal Hallawah in east Hama to arrest several civilians for reconciling with the Syrian government.

According to local reports, dissatisfied rebel fighters from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) called on their allies from Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) to arrest civilians in the aforementioned villages for making peace without their consent.

Over 80 villages in northern and eastern Hama agreed to reconcile with the Syrian government after 5 years of hostility.

Unfortunately, several rebel forces have expressed their dissatisfaction with these villagers for reconciling with the Syrian government; and as a result, a number of civilians have been arrested.

Encirclement would mean that the SAA would have to capture or kill every soldier in the city. It would take months of work to successfully clear out. Best option is leave a single open route and allow as many of their fighters to retreat and kill off the stragglers. SAA expects the battle for Palmyra to be a violent and bloody one and are opting for minimal casualties, which is also why operations for it's capture are slow.

Maybe Germany is a special case, Mutti seems to despite Germans and everything they stand for.

I've typically seen other European leaders visit their troops, or victims of terror attacks/natural disasters and the like. But remember, they're politicians. They don't actually care.

Pic related, our PM in Afghanistan.

The only politician we currently have that visits our troops is Von der Leyen, but that's to be expected since she's the Minister of Defence.

The last politician who didn't fill that role, but still visited our troops regularly was Westerwelle. He was a faggot, but he was a decent faggot.

Merkel just sits in her washing machine-looking office all day and accepts more 'fugees.

its a take on the famous Bill Clinton phrase

>"It's the economy, stupid" is a slight variation of the phrase "The economy, stupid" which James Carville had coined as a campaign strategist of Bill Clinton's successful 1992 presidential campaign against sitting president George H. W. Bush.

also it was somewhat of a media point in europe because Schauble the german financial minister mentioned it "its the implementation, stupid" talking about the current economic crisis.

LOOKS LIKE THESE SYRIAN REBELS ARE VERY WELL INFORMED IN BOTH HISTORY OF AMERICAN POLITICS AND PROBABLY CURRENT EUROPEAN POLITICAL MEDIA. NOT SOMETHING YOUD EXPECT FROM PEOPLE FEARING FOR THEIR LIFE IN A WARZONE.

On Monday morning, a Russian missile struck the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions in the Palmyra countryside, killing 17 soldiers and wounding 26 others during a fierce battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS).

According to a battlefield correspondent that is embedded with the Syrian Armed Forces in the Palmyra countryside, the Russian missile hit a group of soldiers from the Syrian Marines, killing the entire unit and their commander ‘Ali Rahmoun.

The friendly-fire took place near the Palmyra Triangle, where the Syrian Armed Forces are currently advancing amid fierce resistance from the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham. The incident was not intentional; however, poor coordination was cited as the reason for the friendly-fire that killed 17 Syrian Marines.

Several western publications reported that ISIS killed 26 Syrian soldiers in Palmyra today; this is incorrect – the majority of the casualties today came as a result of friendly-fire.

The Syrian and Russian armed forces have yet to comment on this matter because of the ongoing investigation.

"Our logic behind this is that while many people are tracking the atrocities, nobody is visually representing and mapping the defections, which we believe are important in encouraging more to defect and giving confidence to the opposition,"

"Given how hard it is to get information into Syria right now, we are partnering with Al-Jazeera who will take primary ownership over the tool we have built, track the data, verify it, and broadcast it back into Syria," he said.

"Please keep this very close hold and let me know if there is anything [else] you think we need to account for or think about before we launch. We believe this can have an important impact," Cohen concluded.

Syrian government rules out talks on Assad future, focus is counter-terrorism
The fate of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is not part of the negotiations with the opposition, the head of the Syrian government's delegation said on Monday, insisting that counter-terrorism efforts remained the priority for Damascus.

Bashar Ja'afari, speaking to reporters in Geneva at the start of a second week of talks with U.N. Special Envoy Staffan de Mistura, said: "President Assad has nothing to do with the Syria-Syria talks.

"The (terms of) reference of our talks do not give any indication whatsoever with regard to the issue of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic. This is something already excluded," he said. Little progress had been made, he said, accusing the High Negotiations Committee (HNC) of failing to respond to its paper on basic principles.

It is all the next step of his master plan.

Since the K*rdish party HDP passed the treshold, most members of the parliament are not AKP members. Thus, his dreams of introducing presidential system to Turkey and becoming le Grand Sultan for real were crushed. So he is going to go for a referandum.

Basically, he wants as much chaos and destabilization as possible, so that people vote for a presidential system believing that this will fix things.

Roaches genuinely have no friends. It is that they are still in an alliance we forgot to kick them out of, otherwise the world genuinely wouldn't have given a damn if Russia decided to glass the fuck out of them.

Greetings Pooteenists. I must say I'm actually starting to feel sorry for you Pooteenists. With Pooteeys rustbuckets running scared of the Turks the Doofus minimal gains of the last few months have ground to a halt.

I cringe thinking about how many of you will start killing yourself. I see that autistic Cypriot has yet to kill himself. I honestly thought he would be the first to go.

I also thought that Palmyra would have fallen by now to the Doofus. The incompetence of the Shia thugs amazes even me. I can't imagine how depressed you all are.

very impressive indeed. Just like the Ottoman conquest of Balkan Midget states and folding into itself like a cheap stool the moment it faces some real resistance.

some groups that are considered part of FSA (theres dozens of groups) are part of the current ceasefire, which is why there are a bit less offensives towards them

other groups of FSA are completely interwoven and indistuingishable from Al-Nusra

>>68252010
Wasn't even 1 million. It was 500 thousand. Plus, the invasion occured right after a coup orchestrated by the US-supported junta in Greece, so the army was in complete disarray, with inferior equipment and problems with the command structure.

Keep on doing what you're doing. This is very helpful when it comes to politics :^)
