Rebels arrest civilians in east Hama for reconciling with the Syrian government

On Monday morning, the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” entered the rebel-controlled villages of Abu Ajawah, Surouj, and Tal Hallawah in east Hama to arrest several civilians for reconciling with the Syrian government. According to local reports, dissatisfied rebel fighters from the Free Syrian Army (FSA) called on their allies from Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jund Al-Aqsa (Syrian Al-Qaeda group) to arrest civilians in the aforementioned villages for making peace without their consent. Over 80 villages in northern and eastern Hama agreed to reconcile with the Syrian government after 5 years of hostility. Unfortunately, several rebel forces have expressed their dissatisfaction with these villagers for reconciling with the Syrian government; and as a result, a number of civilians have been arrested.

Saudi air raids kill 11 civilians in Yemen’s Al-Jawf

The Saudi-led Coalition continued its brutal aerial campaign over Yemen, launching several airstrikes over the Al-Jawf, Taiz, Sanaa, Mareb, and Saada governorates. Among the Saudi Air Force’s most deadly air raids was the attack that killed 11 civilians at the Matoun district in the al-Jawf province.

>>
So after Al-Qaryatayn and Palmyria are taken what is the next step.?
1) return to Latakia and retaking everything up to turkish border and the town of Jisr-al-Shigour to open Idlib province?
2) further advance east of Palmyra to connect with Deir-e-Zor?
3) Return to expanding the supply road to Aleppo, going for Lake Assad, and that airport near Raqqa?
4) Liquidating the besieiged jihadis in east Damascus suburbs once and for all?

Gunmen on Monday attacked a hotel in Mali's capital Bamako that had been converted into a base for a European Union military training mission in the West African nation, a Defence Ministry official and a witness said.

The witness said the attack targeted Bamako's Nord-Sud Hotel, which serves as headquarters for the mission of nearly 600 EU military personnel deployed to Mali to train its security forces.

"The attackers tried to force through the entry and the guards posed in front of the entrance opened fire. One attacker was killed. The gunfire continued for several minutes," he said.

A Malian Defence Ministry spokesman confirmed that shots had been fired at the hotel. "The security forces arrived on the scene a half hour ago. I don't have more information than that for the moment," Colonel Diarran Kone told Reuters.

I will answer based on my perception...The goal will be to liberate Palmyra and then link up with Deir Ez-Zor, while this is occurring, the SAA will liberate the rest of Lattakia and begin preparing for the Liberation of Jisr esh-shugour. Once that is complete, we'll see the battle taken into the rebel and Al-Qaeda heartland... however, I do not predict that the SAA will make an advancement towards Idlib, the most realistic goal will be to direct the Aleppo forces to besieged cities, Fuah and Kafraya, and open a route to them. From there we'll see the SAA also begin liberation of North Idlib. Once those towns are secure, we'll begin witnessing advancements in er-Raqqa province. I'm not quite sure if or when the SAA will attempt to liberate the rest of Northern Aleppo Province.

Read that this afternoon, I dunno. Too much speculation and dramatization. Fact of the matter is, if Ethiopia wants to, they just roll up in Somalia again. Egypt will not start shit now that they have to deal with insurgents in the Sinai. Sudan and Eritrea are wildcards, but they have plenty of trouble back home, and don't want to attract the attention of the US.

All that matters there now is Yemen and the Saudi's.
>>
Daily reminder for fuck roaches.
>>
>>68262401
I was discussing this just a few weeks ago with a friend at university.

I think open war in Eritrea and intensified proxy war in Somalia and the Sudans is the most likely outcome. Worst case scenario is a full-scale regional war, but that's highly unlikely.

>Commander Harbour observed that the Russian navy was within its rights to release the men as it did – and it is probable that the boat they were returned to was one of their own. He congratulated the Russians on a "brave" and successful action against piracy.

I know that, but Palmyra is the figure head of all of this, because it was one of the main outpost of the silk road for centuries. I really like how Arabs and Levantines bitched about the Brits and French stealing arts and statues to put them into museums, then they turn around and dynamite the shit out of these beautiful ruins.

Albanians would buy it for cheap, harvest the good organs and sell it to any Israeli doctor.
Or possibly the doctors come to you directly.
Same has happened in Ukraine 2 years ago.
Only thing that deters business like that high price for a frozen corpse.
500 euros for one Turksicle from his own freezer would make any Jewish doctor rub his hands and smile.

I already explained to you, the artifacts that isis destorys are literally depicting assyrians destroying the local ancient artifacts, its all the same shit there, the only reason why sides changed is because one got stronger, and the opposite would have happened if the other side got stronger, and on and on and on, if it was about islam the stuff there would have been destroyed many centuries ago instead of now

Please, the average American doesn't even know the differences between a Persian, Assyrian or an Arabian, ethnically or culturally. We're told that Putin is a dictator and his country hates him, preferring western homosexuality and liberalism.

We've been the demon behind the destabilization of ME-NA for some time now and I'm happy to see a secular dictator bringing order, than Wahhabi despots like the Saudi's we support, or the sectarian non-states we've created through removing these "murderous dictators". Assad's regime will survive. Good. Anything is preferable to literate barbarian zealots taking over and our media suddenly not being bothered by the killing of civilians and destruction of the country, after Assad is gone. The regime is also preferable to the establishment of another one of our satrapies, like Iraq or Afghanistan.

These invasions and destabilizations have to be put down so hard the people behind them will never think to undertake another one.

And then what? You still have dozens of Sunni militias running around, who have just lost their common enemy..

People like this:

Riad Mousa al-Asaad was the commander of the Free Syrian Army.

Riad al-Assad has made controversial statements such as suggesting that ethnic cleansing and suicide bombing are "an integral part of revolutionary action, of Free Syrian Army action."

Albey Ahmed Berri is the Chief of Staff of the Free Syrian Army.

Free Syrian Army forces under its command committed the Aqrab massacre in December 2012, resulting in 125-300 civilians killed, most of them from the Alawite minority.

SO MODERATE!

You need to look at the situation in-terms of who will (and can) bring stability to the region and govern most justly. Assad has used great force to keep the rebels at bay, yes but the alternative are gangs of barbarians destroying the history, culture and people of the region, or a puppet regime raping the country for resources. If he can maintain Syria's sovereignty (as he's somehow managed to do despite U.S. efforts.) and provide protection for it's people, be they Muslim, Christian, Yazidi, I do believe he should be supported, as neither alternative government would be any good for the country in peace time.

The Syrian Muslim brotherhood (which answers to Qatar) was there at the very start of the demonstrations, and was a large contributing factor to the rebellion. Various foreign powers, most notably Turkey, Saudi Arabia, the UK, the USA, and France joined the Qatari in supporting opposition to the Iranian/Russian-backed Syrian government.

No one disputes that the Syrian government was a strict authoritarian regime that did not tolerate political opposition to itself. However, outside of that, there was freedom, peace, and security for those who did not attempt political opposition. Christians lived side by side with Alawites, Sunnis, Druze, without any conflict. Muslims joined in on the celebrations for Christmas, Christians joined in on the celebrations at the end of the Ramadan. Attempts at stirring any sectarian conflict was brutally crushed by the regime, most prominently seen in the 80s and the present day.

This part of the world is not like Europe. It's not ready for our style of government.

>>68271517
Libya is a tribal conflict that has been exploited by islamic extremists. There are various off-shoots such as Wahhabism which conflicts with mainstream Sunnism and attempts to convert all to Wahhibism. Sunni Islam isn't the monolith you make it out to be.

There's also the Tuaregs but they're not that relevant. Read up on the tribal structure of Libya and how this contributed too the original rebellion against Qadaffi (backed by one of the three main tribes, which enjoyed many privileges due to this) and how it relates to the current situation.
>>
>>68271103
people who demonstrate for democracy and all that might mean well and somewhere it can be admirable. but if you create a western-style democracy in a country like Syria, there is a chance that a Sunni party will be elected that might go apeshit later making the place a hell for alawites, christians, druze, etc

How will a Sunni party keep the peace in the country better than Assad did? How will they guarantee religious freedom? How will they reflect the multireligious Syria better than Assad government which actually includes many Sunni government officials?

>>68271806
if innocents were killed by the thousands, how do you explain a large part of the syrian people still supporting Assad?

how do you explain that even a Jihadist sent his family to Tartous because theyd be safe there, while he fought in Jihad against government?

how do you explain the fact that the vast majority of those 6000 people are military-aged males?
>>
>>68271806
I think we should support Syrian Christians like SMC but of all these rebel groups that may or may not be Muslim zealots, may or may not turn radical as soon as they hold power, the Assad regime is the only faction that can be trusted to maintain the rights of Christians and other non-Muslim minorities, and offer them protection after the war is over.

I don't want to see another Libya, another Iraq.
>>
>>68272423
Thank you for this answer. Well pragmatism isn't really for me, I choose not to support anyone even though liked the FSA before they started relying too much on Nusra's military capacities.

Also maybe compare number of deads caused by Assad vs the Rebellion.

Interesting fact, Rebels killed more civilians than Nusra (+JaA) and IS combined. But still way less than the Regime.

It's over, run for the hills.

http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-14462733

Scientists say that some European house mice have developed resistance to the strongest poisons.

German and Spanish mice have rapidly evolved the trait by breeding with an Algerian species from which they have been separate for over a million years.

The researchers say this type of gene transfer is highly unusual and normally found in plants and bacteria.

The Current Biology report says this process could yield mice resistant to almost any form of pest control.

Right. They're the ones with artillery and an airforce.

Our drone campaign we've been running all over the middle east for years now kills an average 40 civilians for every one "terrorist" (which may have just been some underling holding his SIM card) yet we don't "mean" to kill civilians. Why I support Assad is because he did give rights and protection to groups who would have been viciously persecuted under Muslims, or forgotten about and allowed to be discriminated against and abused under a satrapy government we're going to push for in Syria, like in Iraq or Afghanistan.
>>
>>68273586

Well the Alawites and Middle Class supports Assad because they don't want to loose their privileges. Careful not to fall in propaganda traps. I worked for an NGO in Paris for refugees and I can tell you what Syrians think of Assad, it's not IS they flee for the majority.

The "Middle east is not ready for our style of government." is a very neo-colonialist approach. Libya was a terrible mistake, and I think Sakozy should be jailed for that but there should have been a follow up to the war. With the West preventing foreign meddling from Egypt, and UAE & Turkey (among others)

I know I can't argue here, but just read this sentence -> Western propaganda exist and is bullshit -> just don't think Russian propaganda is anymore real. You have the right to support a dictator out of pragmatism, but don't deny his crimes.

>>
>>68273989
I don't think anyone actually believes Russian propaganda or denies Assad's government has done some nasty things.

As for the neo-colonialist approach, I see nothing wrong with it when it's objectively true. The only functional Western-style democracy in that region is a state founded by Western immigrants (Israel).

Plague of RATZILLA: Residents scared to leave their homes or open their windows over fears that giant vermin will attack them

Giant rats seen running into drains close to homes in Killyleagh, Co. Down
Residents say they are too scared to let children go out and play in garden
'Disgusting and horrible' rodents have eaten way through wheelie bins
Comes as wave of genetically mutated 'super rats' rapidly invaded country

A plague of giant rats have left parents fearing for their children's lives after invading a play area and eating their way through wheelie bins on the hunt for food.

The rodents - some as a big as cats - have been spotted running into drains close to homes and digging holes in gardens around Killyleagh, County Down, Northern Ireland.

Residents say they are scared to go out at night or open their windows and admit to regularly hearing the eight inch-long rats scratching at bins - with some too frightened to even lift the lid.

It comes as a wave of so-called 'super rats' have rapidly invaded the country, which experts predicted would outnumber humans two-to-one by this year.

Genetic testing by Huddersfield University revealed that the rodents have developed a mutation that allows them to survive conventional poisons.

Anecdotal evidence does not make a full picture friendo. You talked to the people who oppose the government, who are largely conservative Sunnis, did you talk to those who support it?

And they're not ready for liberal democracy. They're just not. If Egypt didn't prove this to you, nothing will I suppose.

>You have the right to support a dictator out of pragmatism, but don't deny his crimes.

Those pictures don't change anything. Assad is the best option for Syria, only he can stop the bloodbath. Even if he committed those crimes would you rather execute him and leave Syrians killing each other for decades? Or would you rather let him rule and return peace to his country?

But if you want to find out about the migrant crap, RT has way better coverage than any balkan media.
