Muslim community is very diverse. Their behaviour generally depends on their economic background. The rich are west aping degenerates, the middle class are civil, have moral values and are educated and the poor are typical street shitters. But I guess this description fits all Indians, regardless of their religion.
If we consider general adherence to religion, Indian Muslims are mediocre. They aren't extremists jihadist allahu-akbar-kaboom type and they aren't degenerates either. Indian Muslims are probably the most peaceful Muslim community.
Bifurcation should never had happened. Up until 1947, there was no India or Pakistan. There was a "Hindustan" which comprised of the whole Indian subcontinent. We share similar history, right from the Indus Valley Civilization to British Colonialism.

Indians Muslims are genrerally mediocre in their practice of Islam. Radicalization is a redundant concept here in India. However, we are ridden with communalism in certain old city areas, here in Hyderabad. Both Hindu and Muslim communities in the old city have animosity between them. However for the most of the city, we all get along well with each other. Muslims are seen bursting crackers on diwali and Hindus are seen wearing skull caps and hosting iftar parties.

Why don't you look at the history of Muslims and Hindus in India. They have lived together for hundreds and hundreds of years. I honestly LOVE my city. The weather is amazing (except in may), no humidity, pollution levels not really acceptable but far better than Mumbai, Delhi and other metros. The best part is that people here are very friendly to each other. Non Muslims speak telugu which is the official language of the state while Muslims speak Deccani urdu but both communities know both languages. Muslims and Hindus alike share a sense of local patriotism which was exemplified when they struggled for the creation of telangana together.

I have no idea if beef is actually banned here, because students in Osmania University (dalits, adivasis, and OBCs along with minorities) host beef festival every year without any scuffles with law or police. In fact, I vaguely remember the police actually providing them security when they were threatened by the local bjp mla. Of course, the local bjp is butthurt about it but nobody cares about them.
