When you look at it more closely, Trump will take a fair share of the candidates until New York. And he will win New York and several of the "winner takes it all" East Coast states.
So Trump will be at 900 or more in April. This will give quite some momentum for May and June 7.
It will be very hard for the Other Than Trump vote to make sure Trump isn't getting close to 1100 or 1200 even. Trump can make Kasich an offer he cannot refuse to get his delegates.

California is a CLOSED PRIMARY. Closed as in, only voters who are registered as Republicans will be able to vote in the Republican primary; Democrats will not be able to vote. It's also not a caucus where voter intimidation and ballot rigging is rampant.
In Texas, the counties that Trump won are the ones closest to the southern border. The ones with the most illegal immigrants. That means that Republicans who have to deal with shitloads of illegals firsthand will vote Trump. Considering how especially rampant that is in Cali, more Repubs there would vote for Donald than you think.
