I consider it the ideal 7.62 platform. Not really big on the 5.56 AK's. At that point just get a much lighter AR. But why even use a 5.56 (5.45X39) unless you have to hump ten miles a day for a month straight.
I will take the extra weight that comes with the much increased firepower from a 7.62
Anything over 100 yards and I am shooting .308 out of a scoped bolt action anyway.

I have a Yugo AK but sometimes I think about trading it out for an American one, since they have about the same price point.
