I started as a volunteer at 16, got my Firefighter 1/2 on nights and weekends while I was a senior in high school, tested for the first time for my current dept and didn't get hired. So last january I was poised with taking out this fucking closet and renovating it to be more cable friendly. The contractors that layed all this garbage from 7 years ago ended up running out of 3 and 5 foot cables. So what happened was instead of them going out to get more, they just decided to use huge 20 foot cables then leave the huge ass tumor of blue cable on the ground for everyone to fuck up over. This made actually finding the pork and jack numbers so fucking hard because nothing was labelled and you had to wind your hand through this maze of wires just to find out which switch went to which phone jack/data jack.
After about 8 hours of fucking around with all that, relabeling everything, and installing 6 new switches and getting those into stack, it was finished off with this
While the cable job still looks sloppy, this is far better than what it used to look like and now you can actually trace out a wire to a jack should you need to
