Marriage is failing because monogamy isn't natural: humans aren't meant to be with one person for their entire lives. However while monogamy is a social construct, it is necessary to keeping society stable. This is why I believe open marriages are the remedy: they allows spouses to satisfy their desires while maintaining the relationship. No good husband should deny his wife a young stud and no wife should deny her husband a hot chick. It makes others happy and improves the marriage, leading to more trust and happiness.
I've been married for twelve years and have been in an open relationship for seven years, and it has been the best decision we ever made. Before we would bickering and disagree constantly but now we're far more understanding. Admitting my wife has more time to have sex with other guys but we equally benefit from the positive effects. I don't mind it, sometimes I'll make a meal for the two after they've had it. I get to have her try out the things she's learned from experience while we make love.
Why don't more people try this? This is the cure to the relationship problem.
