The thing is that this process will keep growing over time if the economy doesn't heal. Wal mart has absolute market share, and if they can't make money, we've effectively bottomed out.

Long term, however, we are going to have to restructure private enterprise in low-profit areas of the United States. IDK if we want to do this, though, because Wall Street banks are invested in the lie that they want to invest in these places. Comparatively, most other nations just increased autonomy rather than pretend they gave a shit.
There is no happening. Gas prices fall sharply. Walmart sells gas. Revenues declined accordingly. This is an example of why revenue is a near meaningless metric.
