Depends on your camera and what kind of landscapes you like to shoot. That pic was with a 30mm eq lens, but like pic related I shot with a 90mm. Sometimes a little more telephoto helps.

It really kinda depends on where you are.
Primes can be "limiting" to people who are at a spot and say: I WANT THIS SHOT.
Move around a bit and you can get it within limits. If you shoot a lot of landscape, you'll probably have a tripod and be stopped down tho.

- It's a product shot
- it's a stationary image taken at 1/30
- It's not particularly sharp. I hope you're using an adapted lens
- muh crushed shadows and highlights
- you couldn't be bothered to clean the area or it's a fucking snapshit

I'd disagree, the original looks better since it at least retains the colour of the guitar and can be regarded at the very least as a snapshit. It's far worse that you put some semblance of effort into the black/white pic. Even if that effort was just clicking B/W.
The sign of you have a weak skin is your reply, further shown by the reply I'm now quoute. It's not some 4chan pro photog only club, but it is a thread dedicated to providing some C&C to the photos posted in it. Not that you'd have gotten the point since you never even resized both posts.
I don't care if you want to be a pro, I don't care if you think you're an amateur but you posted a photo and an edit and I provided feedback. If you can't deal with that then feel free to sell your camera and stick to your smartphone. Adapted lenses or not, you're not going anywhere without critical feedback to your shot.

When the Perseid metoer shower came through back in August I sat outside on the barren hilltop alone from like midnight till 3am taking interval shots of the sky, in hopes of capturing meteors, or at least I could make a composite star trails shot.
Anyway, I was taking 25sec exposures one after another for over three hours. About 40mins in a heavy layer of dew settled on the camera and lens and I didn't even notice. Hours of time, hundreds of shots completely wasted.
Pic is the only one that actually had a meteor in it and it was when the dew was beginning to obscure the lens.

It's take on the cheapest colour film I have. Kodak Colorplus 200, and it tends to act odd in long exposures. However it's fine in daylight.(pic related).
However that's not particularly useful criticism either way.
I found the photo interesting because of the way small amounts of stray light in almost complete darkness made for something interesting. It was almost a 10min exposure.

Yeah, I would have loved to get it when the trees and grass were all green, but it's about 12 hours away from where I live so I don't get the chance to go by it very often. Maybe I'll play with it a bit and see if I can bring out some of the fainter colors without ruining the rest of the picture.

Are you using spot or zone focus modes? Or whatever canon calls them.

On that camera I was pretty much just using auto focus. Also, we were at the start of the 12 hour drive home, so the passengers were a bit impatient with me for even wanting to stop. On my Nikon I've been playing around with focus modes now and I use a zone focus more often.
