Harley Davidson has always been a manufacturer of trash. They use a 180 degree crank to produce a sound, the sound of a controlled and repetitive misfire. The result is wasted compression, wasted displacement, wasted everything. Thats why a stock 1100cc Vtwin from Harley will make 48 horse, and a single 652cc from BMW or a 670cc parallel twin from Honda will put out the same power while getting 70mpg. But none of that actually matters. Harley bikes aren't built to be fast, they aren't built to handle well, they aren't build to do anything actually. They're built to have a certain image. They want to sell an idea of a motorcycle lifestyle to 50 year old guys who will ride a couple weekends a year, buy a branded leather vest, chaps, then store it in the garage and never touch it again.
Major components on Harley bikes are sourced from shitholes in the middle east, and the company has actively been trying to hide it for years. Their American image is nothing but marketing spin. They have always had an issue with throwing valves, leaking oil, pumps burning out, scored cylinder walls, and etc. Why? Because their modus operandi is to be as cheap as humanly possible. They do this because they know the average customer is a two weekend per year rider, they have no reason to maintain any quality standards when their bikes aren't actually being ridden.
Indian as a company is dead, only recently resurrected, and they never built any sport bikes. Victory is nothing but a drop in the bucket who never even remotely competed with the larger manufacturers.
No American motorcycle manufacturer has succeeded in doing anything but slapping together shitheap cruisers that appeal to leather vest worshiping faggots.

I'm sure you can too, but bear in mind always to double braking distance, meaning you should be able to count four seconds between the vehicle ahead passing a streetlight before you do. That's four, the same as the amount of fingers on your hand minus the thumb, if you get confused.
The front brake, assuming your 2-ton bumper sticker and crash bar laden 1500cc v-twin that actually makes 40bhp has one, should be engaged slowly, prepared for a potential slip, but otherwise brake as normal. IE, the every thirty seconds you come to a red light denoting a turn you would be unable to handle in flowing traffic you might encounter in godless, communist lands whose ass you saved in WW2. I recommend you clap to pass the time, as you aren't trusted to filter forward even if you could somehow fit your 300lb self and Goldwing between the bumper to bumper stacked Hummers and minivans occupying all three lanes.
This conveniently renders my next piece of advice irrelevant, but for completion's sake I'll proceed and inform you to take bends easier than you would, should you ever encounter this terrifying motoring concept.
