Ok guys, I'm in the market for a vehicle that can handle rough roads. Not looking for an all terrain vehicle. It needs to be a daily drive so it also needs to be good on gas. Any ideas? I'm open to suggestions.

Not sure if the Miata thing is legitimate or a troll response.

Subaru Outback, or if you want something more luxurious, an Audi A6 Allroad.
Don't listen to >>14898546 . The Crown Vic Interceptor isn't that good on roads such as that. It's suspension is meant to handle shitty asphalt, not dirt.

When did I say vic? Where was dirt roads mentioned?
>>14898589
>Allroad
All dem balljoints and air suspension, nigga you crazy?
Also a crown vic is exactly the sort of durable vehicle that you can drive the shit out of on poor roads/gravel like that and if it does break, parts and labor are dirt cheap.
Honestly, my relatives in rural Russia (Siberia) have good luck with any number of different cars: Ladas have compliant suspensions and good clearance, older Toyotas are total brick shithouses in terms of enduring daily dirt road abuse. My one uncle has a W210 merc with 500k kilometers, the suspension/wheel bearings/hubs on that thing are really overbuilt.
I'd say an Outback is the most reasonable new car option. If you can stomach lower fuel economy, a Toyota 4Runner would be at the top of my list.
A CVPI because anything else on rough roads will destroy all the internal components

A jeep compass, why? Because when it does break you won't care

Subaru is your answer

Lol yeah i agree with anon sounds to me like you are in the market for a Subaru great daily driver but also can hang on some pretty bad road conditions I have one myself
>>14898748
Yeah you'll cheer. I only know 2 people that had one, and both of them had an issue where a wheel came off while they were driving
>>14898748
Erm no sorry they were both Jeep Libertys. My bad
>>14898487
Corolla or tercell 4wd are the best option. They can take some shit. And will never leave you stranded.

You guys are overthinking it. This Camry's seen more dirt trails than most Cherokee's in my area.

KLR 650.
Get a Subaru. I suggest a Forester. It's basically a taller Outback but they're usually cheaper and have more ground clearance. In my area, anyway.

A Toyota pickup with the 22RE and the 5 speed.

Pajeros only get decent mpg if they're diesel, but it's very hard to find a diesel one in the US.
literally anything. a dirt road is still a road.
