My bandit is 19 years old

I'm expecting about 100 150 for carb cleaning and adjustment.

That's uk money.

I am definitely not going to be doing carb work or valve tappet work myself.

I need that shit done on the day ride in ride out.

Mfw I am getting frustrated with the problems I'm having with it :(

Is rubbing copper grease on the ht leads, spark plug caps etc good for keeping water out?

My bike isn't very water proof.
Keep loosing cylinders when it rains a lot.

Maybe get a cover for the bike if you don't have a garage or covered parking space.
>>
>>14887175
I have a cover for it.
It's during riding that the cylinders would stop working.
>>
>>14887177
Keep the cover on when you ride then.

Stripped the wire and re-terminated it into the connector with a pair of pliers and a bottle opener. Tr00 Aussie electrical work.

Front brakes and brake light switch is working now.

Rear brakes still aren't working and there's a problem with the switch but I think I've isolated where the problem is. Ran out of sunlight to check it out today.
>>
>>14887182
I'll use a white one too and put it over myself.
I'll make two eye holes and maybe people will thinK there's a ghost riding up and down the a1.
>>
Things that I should do:
>buy set of plugs to check crab last time
>make a call to go chek out a bike
>set an appointment for my exhams
>call another doctor for another exham
>find a rack for the bike

How many of these objectives do you think I'll complete today?

You really need the right screen and a quiet helmet to cut down on wind noise. Oddly, it's sometimes better to have the top of your helmet outside the 'bubble' created by the screen. They look a bit silly but a clip on spoiler at the top of the screen can make a difference, unfortunately, the only way to know is to suck it and see.

The cheapest, quickest way is earplugs. Your tympanic membrane tightens in response to loud noises so you'll still hear the wind but it won't be as damaging to your hearing, this means that using canalphones with something heavy like silicone foam or triple flange tips and playing some quiet music can further reduce the impact of wind noise (I find it very fatiguing).

What bike are you riding?
>>
>>14887311
Also have a look at the Shoei Neotec, it's probably the quietest flip front I've ever tried and I love how it's both well insulated with the vents closed and very well ventilated with them open.
>>
>>14887315
'13 Ninja 650.
I know there's a bunch of new screens to use on it, and I have hearing protection earplugs right now but I'd kind of like to be able to hear my Sena at the same time without having to fuck around with in-ear earphones. I might just have to bite the bullet and use earplugs.

Any screen suggestions? Reliable makes?

>>14887311
Schuberth helmets look pretty alright!
>>
>>14887327
>I'd kind of like to be able to hear my Sena at the same time without having to fuck around with in-ear earphones

Look in a music store (as in for musicians, not a place that cells CDs) for attenuating earplugs, they're designed to evenly attenuate (deaden) sound across the frequency range, that way you can turn your Sena to its maximum volume and hear it over the din without blowing your eardrums. If you do change your mind and go down the earphone route, I can't recommend Shure SE215's enough. The triple flange tips are a little pricey and break after a few months of heavy use but what you get is isolation so powerful it's almost unsettling at first and audio quality pretty much unmatched by single dynamic driver earphones.

>Any screen suggestions? Reliable makes?

I've always gone OEM with my big bikes but I had a Givi screen with my 125 that was pretty good. The Zero Gravity Double Bubble screens seem to be what all the cool kids are putting on their Ninjas these days. The touring screen on my VFR1200 looked ridiculous and I probably would have never bought it had it not been part of the GT package but it transformed the ride into a relaxed cruise missile, nothing but quiet laminar airflow so a double layer screen might also be something to look into.

Not him but these are the style you want. The style on the right is better for actual musician stuff but if you turn your head too quickly inside a helmet they'll pop out. Left style won't.

They're sold as Ear Peace here but it changes depending on where you live.
>>
>>14887366
>I have a set of in-ears right now, but they're $40 sennheiser things that don't stay in very wel

The Shures loop over your ear so they don't get knocked out when you pull on the helmet and the triple flange tips go half way to your brain. That said, I'd start with the earplugs if that's your preference, just be sure your Sena goes loud enough.
>>

that's not an alternative that's the 750 and not the 1100 katana, curiously enough (at least according to my dad) the 1100 was a nice machine and the 750 was bunkem. PU headlights still cool though.

He had an 1100, sold before I was born apparently.

P.S the 1100 katana is sexy and anyone who says otherwise should be incinerated by a rogue KTM fire.

>>
>>14887851
It's "Katana" only in mehrica, elsewhere it's officially just GSX[cc]F. Dunno why. Maybe because you couldn't get the "real" Katana?

Also yes, it's ugly, somewhat heavy and not that powerful. I said it's *okay* at everything. It's okay for touring, track and street, it's got okay maneuverability, okay power (not supersport-level but the old GSX600F has ~70hp on the rear wheel, new ones a bit less due to emissions cuckoldry), okay brakes, okay ergos. And it's cheap as fuck, plentiful, super reliable, easy to work on.

Is it really great at anything? Nope. Does it do everything decently? Yes. How's the value? Excellent.

In all fairness, I did buy it for the designated meme. I know it's not comparable to a Harley or even a cheap Japanese bike, but I lived in New Delhi for two years. I think a Bullet 500 was the first motorcycle I ever sat on and got the chance to ride, and I've wanted one ever since.

The newer models seem to be a lot more reliable than pre-2009. I haven't had any problems and can keep up at American highway speeds just fine.

It's what I really wanted, and I'm delighted so far. Had an absolute blast riding around the backroads in some warm weather yesterday.

I'm in no way elitist, cultists or evangelical about my vegan diet.
I do like to normalise it so people don't freak out at the sight of the word 'vegan'
It's also a cooking gimmick I do once a week. I cook meals and post them and the gimmick is the Vegan Warrior.
Also friends of mine take the poss and they nicknamed me it so I put it on my vest.
I hope that's satisfying and I appreciate your frustration with judgmental vegans.

In regards to speed it isn't very good, but most of the people I've talked to who own post-2009 Royal Enfields don't have too many complaints. Very easy to maintain yourself, parts are cheap as shit since they're coming from India, and you get attention like no other.

I travel internationally a lot but don't have many hobbies or pastimes at home. I won't get to go to more than a couple countries this year, so I decided to get a bike to keep my happy.

No fucking regrets. Even if it breaks down every other month, it's been worth it.

Plus, if I ever get a sport bike, it's gonna be like going from a Model T to a Ferrari. lol
