So from a very point blank way you're actually dead wrong. An LSD does not make a care faster, it makes a stupid driver safer allowing them to go faster. Traction control goes on to further this ideal in an even more invasive way.

No they're not. They are about as balanced and neutral as you can get from factory. The only reason they oversteer is due to the shitty tires, which were designed to be replaced from the get go.

A good set of tires will cancel all oversteer from this car, leaving nothing but grip and predictability.

I don't know if it's true or not, but there is a lap time on Virginia International Raceway for the BRZ of that 3:18 number, but it was before 2014, so it's hard to say whether the Miata had a handicap or an advantage. Also, drivers are not listed, so a better time could probably be had from both, and it's impossible to know if it's the Club version or not.
