Cars got really popular again in the last few years.
Car culture has a much broader and larger audience now than it did even 5 years ago so there's a lot more retards like anything, the more popular it gets the lower and lower the bell curve drops as far as knowledge and experience.
Something like RCR or haggard garage wouldn't have existed 5 years ago, there just wasn't a market for it.

Because, like within any interest, people have very different opinions, tastes and experiences. The large differences between /o/ and your average car club/group is that /o/ is online where everyone is, to a certain degree, anonymous and can claim, post and shitpost what they want, and how much they want with no chance of actually having to talk to someone face on and prove what they are saying. The second reason is that clubs and groups typically center around a certain aspect of car culture. Young folks today seem to form in groups that are focused on stuff like stance and offroading, while oldies are more interested in driving older cars in pristine conditions, hot rods and similar cars that came out or were still super "cool" when they were young
There is still good content on this board, and the trick to making shitposting disappear is by not replying to it. Ignore it, don't give it any any attention and don't even acknowledge it to any degree
